Charity (charityross) Since there is an A-Z Author Challenge, I thought I would start an A-Z Title Challenge as well. You can begin at any time and finish one year from when you begin your challenge.

Here's how it works:

A-Z TITLE CHALLENGE

*Fill in each letter of the alphabet with a title of a book that you've read that begins with that letter (i.e. American Psycho for the letter A).

*Articles ( a, an, the ) don't count in alphabetizing, so skip to the first letter of the next word (i.e. A Thousand Splendid Suns would count for the letter T, The Great Gatsby would count for the letter G, and so on).

*Titles that start with or are entirely comprised of numbers, will be alphabetized by how they would be spelled when written out in English (i.e. 1984 would count for the letter N for Nineteen Eighty-Four).

*The letter X space will be special. The title will only have to include the letter X to count (i.e. Don Quixote). This isn't necessarily as easy as it sounds.

Well, there it is...hope everyone has fun! :-)

**Just edit your original list post as you make progress.**

message 10: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) Hey Charity,

I like the idea of the titles is even better than the idea of the authors. You can read a lot of books you have never read and maybe never heard of. I may have to do this list instead of the 100 books in a year. It somehow seems more challenging and also a lot more fun.

message 11: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) I'm glad everyone likes this challenge. The nice thing about it is that it can be used in tandem with other 'challenges' and 'to-read' lists.

In fact, if you are doing a challenge like '50 or 100 Books in a Year', you can challenge yourself to see how many times you can go through the alphabet. Now, that would be pretty interesting...

Charity (charityross) Ha ha. Logan. I like it. 'The happy place.' :-)

I still get butterflies every time I walk into a bookstore.

D.G. Wow, Collen! You're also doing the author challenge? WOW!

I think I'll do this one too because I have a lot of other books in my TR shelf that my friends have recommended and which I've been meaning to read in between the author challenge. That way, I won't feel as if I'm cheating on author challenge!

And I'll switch Don Quixote to this challenge - which was actually part of my author challenge. :)

message 36: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (iffer23) | 92 comments Celeste:

Bad Monkeys was surprisingly pretty good, considering it's not the sort of book I would normally read, but my husband had checked it out of the library and encouraged me to read it as well. Definitely a head trip though. A bit hard to figure out what's real and what's really going on.
