What are you reading in November 2017?
Having finished my Stormlight re-read WAY ahead of schedule, i wasn't sure where to go next. I don't really want to dive into another book/ series/ world until I've read Oathbringer. Then inspiration struck so I'm now reading Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection which finishes with Edgedancer (sort of Stormlight 2.5). Should dovetail nicely into Oathbringer if i take my time.....
I'm a really slow reader (I like to savor books). So, I'm working on Words of Radiance and To Ride Hell’s Chasm. They are both fantastic books. I believe I may only get 3 in this month.
I'm reading Pavane Picked up a second hand copy at Bristolcon. For me, this is where Steampunk started (unless Roberts was way ahead of his time)
I'm a slow reader too Tnk, and I'm behind on my personal Discworld challenge so the next four books in that series are probably all I'll finish this year. I started Eric I think in September, but then a whole lot of life happened and a little Lonesome October and here we are in November! Wow.

Yes sir, life always gets in the way of good reading time. I pray the "whole lot of life" wasn't anything too bad. I really enjoy your comments Liam. As far as your Discworld challenge. I love Discworld but I just can't imagine adding this series to my already Huuuuge series challenge. So, good luck and let us know which do you think are the best so far. Mort was one of my personal favorites.

I'm currently reading Promise of Blood which is an extremely interesting read. I hope to finish it in a few days. Then I intend to move on to a book I saw on Kindle Scout that is now released on Kindle Unlimited. Prisoner of the Mind
Yvette wrote: "I'm currently reading Promise of Blood which is an extremely interesting read...."I enjoyed it. I read a short story that came after it which was good & have been meaning to get to the second book for some time.
I'm currently on the second book of the Corean series by L.E. Modesitt Jr.. It's called Darknesses.
I am currently reading A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin, which I am in love with. This month I plan to finish it and maybe start de next one as I am a bit of a slow reader and have a lot of work to do as I am doing two baccalaureats at the same time. (Help). So yeah. Not much reading, unfortunately...
Currently reading The Dragon Factory ,New Watch and Oathbringer. Enjoying every minute of all three!!

Also older, but that's inevitable so I'm told.
Regarding Discworld - they are all a lot of fun, but I think I enjoyed Equal Rites the most so far. If I had to pick only one to live with for the rest of my life, it'd probably be Guards! Guards! I don't know why posing that question to myself in those two ways produces a different answer.

Jim,
I'm enjoying the Powder Mage series. It definitely adds a different twist to the Epic Fantasy. I'll likely get Book 2 after I finish Prisoner of the Mind.

The entire series is fantastic, and once you finish the first trilogy you can start on the new one that follows on. First book was released March and book two is coming out this upcoming March. The Powder Mage world is easily in my top ten fantasy choices.
As for me, I am currently finishing up The Core which, TBH, I am not loving so far. Seems like alot of busy work being added to the story. Once that is finished Oathbringer will probably round out the month.
Finished To Ride Hell’s Chasm. Rated it 5 stars. All I can say is I love Janny Wurts and I loved this book.
Finished The Stone in the Skull which, wow, that was good!, and just to be completely different, am starting Tales of the Marvellous and News of the Strange, which is another collection of medieval Arabian tales in the vein of the Thousand and One Nights.
Much like a lot of fantasy readers, I am trying to finish the first two books of the Stormlight Archive before Oathbringer is released (will probably read Edgedancer as well). A little over 50% through Radiance. Great reads so far.
Have just finished the third book in Trudi Canavan's Millenium's Rule series Successor's Promise. It is billed as a trilogy but apparently there is going to be another one. It was OK but didn't quite live up to the first two which I really loved.
Well, I did it I finished Words of Radiance. This series is the best epic fantasy being written today. It's really that good. This is where I wish we had a 10 star system. I would be very selfish with those and this is one of those few books that would get one. I just love books like this with very satisfying storylines. Now on to Edgedancer.
I agree completely Tnkw01 with everything you said. This series really is that good. Just starting Edgedancer myself.....

I just hope the whole series continues to impress. Personally, It's been my experience that series' that go over 4 to 5 books kind of go down hill and it's hard to bring them back.

I'm halfway through The Tainted City, and I'm loving it so far. The Shattered Sigil is one of the series I started through the bookself challenge, and I'm really glad I did.
I started Storm Front today. My first audiobook ever!

You're right, that is a concern going foward. Ive experienced this too. However i remain optimistic when it comes to Sanderson. His writing is actually improving as time goes on and he hasn't disappointed me yet! He also did a good job (imho) of concluding the Wheel of Time series - a series that was definitely floundering.

That's a great point. I'm going to try and remain optimistic also.

I've read somewhere that the Stormlight Archives are planned as two sets of 5 books, with small appearances of characters of the first set in the sequel. Maybe it'll be something similar to the second era of Mistborn...

I'm done with Stormlight for a while. I really enjoyed the first two but it's been what, 3 and half years since the last book came out which isn't bad but it's too long for me to remember much and I really don't feel like rereading the preceding volumes every time to catch up. If it's like you say, Virginie and it will be two sets of five then I will probably pick them back up after the fifth volume...but we'll see. Just finished a collection The Book of Swords, which was okay but nothing spectacular.

Ohhhhh, you are about to experience the joys of audiobooks. They are great and the Dresden Files are a great place to start.

I hate this thread! All it does is increase my TBR to impossible proportions.Edit:: I've just gone looking for The Way of Kings, and am confused. I'm seeing The Way of Kings book 1, The way of kings, book 2: but I thought from Tnkw01's post earlier that Words of Radiance was book 2? Anyone enlighten me, or am I just being thick?

If you click on this:The Way of Kings and this: Words of Radiance, you'll see books 1 and two. I believe for ease of reading (or for monetary reasons) kindle has split these books up to 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, etc. hope this helps. : )

Well, I finished Edgedancer. I gave it 5 stars. While it doesn't have to be read, unfortunately, it does have information that contributes to the storyline of the series. Just thought everyone might want to know. It is really short and a really quick read and it is at times hilarious.

Finished my visit to the world of the Arabian Nights with Tales of the Marvellous and News of the Strange, and, for no particular reason, am returning to my ... college-age-hood with Time of the Twins, the first Dragonlance Legends novel by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

I finished Storm Front today, and I can't believe it took me this long to try audiobooks! I was a bit reluctant at first, since English is not my first langage, but it was a wonderful experience.
I'm starting Neverwhere in audio, read by Mr. Gaiman himself.

I'm still working on The Way of Kings. I know I won't make it to Oathbringer for this month's discussion. I'm enjoying it very much, but it's quite a long book, and the 2nd is just as long-and working in retail with the holidays coming up means work is going to cut into my reading time :(. But I also just got my copy of The Book of Dust from England (I'm in the US, didn't want an American edit), so I might put Kings on hold to dive into that!P.S. Neverwhere is great, I've loved everything from Gaiman that I've read so far :)
Will wrote: "Have you looked behind the cover on the hardback Book of Dust?"Yes, I immediately took the jacket off to look, and I love it! I'm always a little bummed when hardcovers don't have SOMETHING on the actual book.
I finished The Death Cure yesterday. One of the most unpleasant books I've ever read. I really feel like Dashner wrote himself into a wall and didn't know how to end the series. Shame.Been reading Annihilation now.
Elise wrote: "I finished The Death Cure yesterday. One of the most unpleasant books I've ever read. I really feel like Dashner wrote himself into a wall and didn't know how to end the series. How does this compare to the previous two books in the trilogy? I keep thinking I need to read it but something else always keeps coming up that's a better read.
