What are you reading in November 2017?

I'm a really slow reader (I like to savor books). So, I'm working on Words of Radiance and To Ride Hell’s Chasm. They are both fantastic books. I believe I may only get 3 in this month.

Yes sir, life always gets in the way of good reading time. I pray the "whole lot of life" wasn't anything too bad. I really enjoy your comments Liam. As far as your Discworld challenge. I love Discworld but I just can't imagine adding this series to my already Huuuuge series challenge. So, good luck and let us know which do you think are the best so far. Mort was one of my personal favorites.

I enjoyed it. I read a short story that came after it which was good & have been meaning to get to the second book for some time.
I'm currently on the second book of the Corean series by L.E. Modesitt Jr.. It's called Darknesses.

So yeah. Not much reading, unfortunately...

Thanks Tnk :) It was a nightmare but I think we are through it and wiser and stronger for it. Also older, but that's inevitable so I'm told.
Regarding Discworld - they are all a lot of fun, but I think I enjoyed Equal Rites the most so far. If I had to pick only one to live with for the rest of my life, it'd probably be Guards! Guards! I don't know why posing that question to myself in those two ways produces a different answer.

Jim,
I'm enjoying the Powder Mage series. It definitely adds a different twist to the Epic Fantasy. I'll likely get Book 2 after I finish Prisoner of the Mind.

The entire series is fantastic, and once you finish the first trilogy you can start on the new one that follows on. First book was released March and book two is coming out this upcoming March. The Powder Mage world is easily in my top ten fantasy choices.

Finished To Ride Hell’s Chasm. Rated it 5 stars. All I can say is I love Janny Wurts and I loved this book.

Well, I did it I finished Words of Radiance. This series is the best epic fantasy being written today. It's really that good. This is where I wish we had a 10 star system. I would be very selfish with those and this is one of those few books that would get one. I just love books like this with very satisfying storylines. Now on to Edgedancer.

I just hope the whole series continues to impress. Personally, It's been my experience that series' that go over 4 to 5 books kind of go down hill and it's hard to bring them back.

I'm halfway through The Tainted City, and I'm loving it so far. The Shattered Sigil is one of the series I started through the bookself challenge, and I'm really glad I did.
I started Storm Front today. My first audiobook ever!

You're right, that is a concern going foward. Ive experienced this too. However i remain optimistic when it comes to Sanderson. His writing is actually improving as time goes on and he hasn't disappointed me yet! He also did a good job (imho) of concluding the Wheel of Time series - a series that was definitely floundering.

That's a great point. I'm going to try and remain optimistic also.

I've read somewhere that the Stormlight Archives are planned as two sets of 5 books, with small appearances of characters of the first set in the sequel. Maybe it'll be something similar to the second era of Mistborn...

Just finished a collection The Book of Swords, which was okay but nothing spectacular.

Ohhhhh, you are about to experience the joys of audiobooks. They are great and the Dresden Files are a great place to start.

Edit:: I've just gone looking for The Way of Kings, and am confused. I'm seeing The Way of Kings book 1, The way of kings, book 2: but I thought from Tnkw01's post earlier that Words of Radiance was book 2? Anyone enlighten me, or am I just being thick?

If you click on this:The Way of Kings and this: Words of Radiance, you'll see books 1 and two. I believe for ease of reading (or for monetary reasons) kindle has split these books up to 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, etc. hope this helps. : )

Well, I finished Edgedancer. I gave it 5 stars. While it doesn't have to be read, unfortunately, it does have information that contributes to the storyline of the series. Just thought everyone might want to know. It is really short and a really quick read and it is at times hilarious.

I feel your pain brother.

I finished Storm Front today, and I can't believe it took me this long to try audiobooks! I was a bit reluctant at first, since English is not my first langage, but it was a wonderful experience.
I'm starting Neverwhere in audio, read by Mr. Gaiman himself.

P.S. Neverwhere is great, I've loved everything from Gaiman that I've read so far :)

Yes, I immediately took the jacket off to look, and I love it! I'm always a little bummed when hardcovers don't have SOMETHING on the actual book.

Been reading Annihilation now.

Agree, I really think he had a cool idea about a moving maze and then had no idea what to do so made up some bullshit about a cure that made no sense, only to give up at the end anyway haha.

How does this compare to the previous two books in the trilogy? I keep thinking I need to read it but something else always keeps coming up that's a better read.
