Pop in for a chat!

It's sunny here one minute and then we have hail and snow the next. It's chuffing cold and all.
Apologies for my prolongued absence. As you know, I have no sense of passing time but good reads is no longer sending me email notifications so by the time I realise I haven't popped in for a while it's been days!
Am currently launching a new series. Five shorts but one is for luring people onto my mailing list and will be used exclusively for that. Doing covers and ting, and naming them all. It's great fun. I keep tinkering with them though and they're supposed to be finished. On the up side, the editor hasn't had them yet.
Cheers

Good luck with the new series MT

My wee home town has really hit the big time now - after being voted best place to live in Scotland, it’s also featured in Conde Nast. traveller mag this month. Sssh don’t tell everyone!

That is very impressive R!

Desley, thanks re the series and congratulations on a good sleep session.

Pray tell, Desley, do you still use one? I gave away my iron, which was heavy, and I had bought long before marriage - in perfect shape (from lack of use). I only used it when sewing new things.

Spent the weekend on my couch slowly melting into a grease spot.
Cant wait for the end of year.

Wish it were that nice here Patti, my heating has been on a bit this weekend!

We’ve got a lovely local farm beef producer but his beef is longhorns. Since finding them I don’t go anywhere else for beef and lamb.

Glad the kids enjoyed the train Jud, hope your cold doesn't linger Lynne

Excitement at the harbour today as BBC Landward will be filming local produce being cooked up in their Food Van, which will be parked up next to the beach huts. I'm not trying to get on telly but will be hanging around hopefully in hope of feeding!

Brought my stuff in to go running today but ugh... probably won't bother. Haven't been running in weeks, I've lost my motivation.
Sounds like you had a good night Natasha! Sorry you picked up a cold though.
That is a bit freaky Lynne, I hope it is coincidence!

Sounds a lovely way to spend the day Jim. Sorry that the weather is too warm for you Patti. Ooh, very exciting R! Rather interesting weekend Natasha! Aww, how sweet Will - kittens are good at finding hiding places you never knew existed! Sorry you have lost your motivation Jud

Its no wonder the absence rates are so high...

Is it much hotter than the seasonal average? I just looked at the average temperatures for Yangon and then looked at today's temperature, It seems the temperature should be falling now as you go into the wet season, but it's still supposed to hit 33 degrees
It is probably tough for expats etc but I suspect locals might find January when it can get down below 18 a little chilly :-)

Flower arranging this afternoon so that'll allow for a good goss. It's my main way of finding out what's going on in the village. That and the book group, but that's next week.

Did you get to eat any goodies Ro?

I'd be with Jim on this one, it may be that they're used to it. I watched a thing about folk living in the Arctic circle the other day and a our chap is standing there in his thick duvet jacket talking to a local who's wearing a t-shirt. Our man point out that it's chuffing cold to which the local replies, with a cheery smile, 'not for round here.' It also reminds me of a story a lady at our gym told of how, one frosty morning, there was a man wearing a t-shirt on the bus. She plucked up the courage and asked him why he wasn't cold and he explained he was an Inuit on holiday somewhere warm!
I guess it all depends what you're used to.

Desley, I hope your back turned out OK.
Pam tis cold and leaden skied here but it peed down yesterday for the entire journey down to Sussex, it also took me 3 and a half hours instead of the usual two.
Woke up this morning to discover my therapy unit, er hem, sorry the gym is closed until further notice. That's a bit of a pisser. Still it might mean I finally get this chuffing book ready to publish!
Cheers

Sorry Natasha, one of my cats – you’d think a king size bed would be big enough for one adult and one cat, but I regularly wake up squashed or in an uncomfortable position! This morning I woke up diagonally across the bed! Hope the beeping wasn’t too bad Alicia. I don’t think kids bother about the heat as much as we do Patti! Sorry your journey took longer yesterday MT, what a shame the gym is closed!

I keep a warm sweatshirt by the bed so I don't have to get up and look for something in the middle of the night. I hate that feeling of being too cold to sleep. My internal thermostat doesn't work, so I'm just as likely to need to throw off the covers!
That's funny - that a cat is a bad bedfellow. At least the cat can't steal the covers.

Been up since 8ish. Done some work online, had breakfast, and about to hunker down by the pool for our last full day in Spain.
Had a lovely, relaxing time AND with the direct flight to Jersey, we'll land 2 hours after we leave Spain tomorrow. Yee hah. We'll land around 2.15 and will be home by 3pm. Shame it's raining there.

First day for a while it's been dry underfoot here. Had a little walk. This afternoon I might tackle some of the weeds that have enjoyed the rain more than I have.

She is a bad bedfellow Alicia, she doesn’t exactly steal the covers, but does sometimes lie so I can’t move them up – I have a blanket on the bed as well, but she loves that so she is normally laid on that, and I don’t get much of it. I can imagine a dog is much worse than a cat Lynne, sorry you had a disturbed night. What a shame they went on a bad weather day R, glad you got some food to try though. Glad you are having a proper relaxing holiday Kelly, even if you have done some work! I’m surprised by it taking you 45 mins to get home from the airport though, thought you could get all the way across the island in that time!!

ha ha spot on. that time includes waiting at baggage reclaim for our luggage. Will then take 15 to 20 mins to get home.
