With that in mind, and knowing that I will not be able to finish any of my games for this readathon...AND since we are focusing on pages, I have decided to include the page count from all I am reading...much of which is for PAS games.
So...
Tanakh: 15 pages
The Bedside Torah: (already started - 5) 10 pages
Cold Comfort Farm: (already started) 82 pages Completed
Rescue Ink: (already started) 161 pages Completed
A Rule Against Murder: 322 pages Completed
Sense and Sensibility: (already started - 101) 115 pages
Magic Burns: 260 pages Completed

These totals will reflect my reading each day. I will update these totals until the book is finished or the readathon ends. As I finish a book, I will add another book from one of my PAS games.

Thanks for asking, Lusie :)
For clarity's sake, please update by posting a new comment each time you have finished a book and the page count for that.
Then at the end of the readathon, post an update with all the books you have not finished and the page count you've read during the week.
I hope that makes sense?
I don't mind a bit of chatter on how you're progressing with your reads etc but just be clear when you're posting your finished reads so I know to update the page count... Maybe include a header like: Finished Reading

Um, whatever you think is best? lol
I was just going to take whatever pages is on GR or Amazon... we don't have to be completely accurate for this 'challenge' - not a competition or anything :)

Did you like this book? Have you seen the movie?
Took my 7yo to see it and he loved it... said something about lots of 'explosions in his heart'... his way of saying 'lots of feels' lol

Yes, I did like it very much. I felt it was very emotional ... a bit too much for me.I don't like my heart strings being pulled so much while reading! It is the second book I have felt tearful with this week! I finished The Secret Life of Bees this weekend. I think I am ready for a light read. :D

The Headmaster's Wife 262 pages
The good thing is - one more off my LOST list.
The bad thing is - the average page count of my remaining LOST books has gone up from 450 to 475.

Bea, I'm curious how you're liking Bedside Torah. I'd never heard of it, and it looks interesting. Is it your pattern to just read a couple pages each day?

Susan, I just recently started going back to synagogue...and since the reading for the week I returned was only 5 lessons into the year, I decided to catch up. The Bedside Torah : Wisdom, Visions, and Dreams has a short explanation of the assigned Torah passage and then offers 3 "takes", which are commentary on the passage. The idea is that one should study the passage 3 times during the week. Typically this is done on Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. I figured I could speed this up a bit until I catch up. So far I have read two of the takes for the Genesis 1:1 - 6:8 portion and have considered from take 1 the "need to see the significance of the biblical tale for our own lives and community" and from take 2 "invidious hierarchy among people, assigning a greater worth to one human being over another, is misguided and dangerous...only as equals can we guide each other on the road ahead." Lots to think about and an intriguing interpretive approach to the text. Each take is only a page or two long...but lots to think about.

It sounds intriguing. I only go to temple regularly once a month, when our Renewal minyan meets. And I often forget to even think about the parsha during the intervening weeks. I've found another book by one of the authors at our public library, and if I like the style, I may try yours
