The above is not my final post for the Readathon. It's still morning of 19th November here where I live. I have some books that I've read parts of this week, but have not yet finished ( I usually have multiple books "going" at the same time.) So, I'll post one more time once I see what additional pages I get read today. This has been a lot of fun so far! :)
8:50 a.m. where I am, so I still have a lot of hours in which to read today! I'm hoping to finish one more book and get further into my last LOST book. It's non-fiction, so it's a bit slower read.
Finished ReadingThe Scorpion God: Three Short Novels by William Golding (last 31 pages)
Noches en Fitzrovia by Julian Maclaren-Ross [Nights in Fitzrovia] (last 33 pages)
Well I didn't get much done, but I did make some progress and it's gotten me motivated again. I had some books I need to finish:Running Totals:
Middlemarch = 315 pages read
Corelli's Mandolin = 187 pages read
The Charterhouse of Parma = 28 pages read
Yesterday I finished
, 373 pages (Christmas in July & Scattershelves)Just finished
, 271 pages (for another challenge group)Still have a few hours to get some more pages in my LOST challenge.
Well, reading time is way over for me and I didn't get to finish that Bookopoly Jail book but I managed to make some headway into it:
440 pages for Come In Spinner (abt 220 pages to go, yay!)
Also, 112 pages for The Stone Diaries

Haha! Still have about 7 hours to read here, but somehow I doubt I'll make that much of a dent in those remaining 3500 pages ;)
I’m still reading! It’s mid afternoon here. I have about 6 more hours before I’ll probably pass out for the night :)
Sara wrote: "I'm not sure how you are counting the pages, but I read another 527 pages (instead of just 178) :)"
Did you finish the book, Sara? Or is that your last post for this readathon?

Tien, I will post my miscellaneous page count tomorrow. I will not be able to finish more books but hope to read more before falling asleep in Sense and Sensibility.

That's it for me! This was fun :)
Final postTo the end of Sunday I had completed 420 pages of The Sterkarm Handshake
and 210 pages of Moll Flanders.
So I've got well into both of my Lost books although not finished either one.
I did not finish any of my games (other than the last book rolled in Bookopoly), but I am very glad for having read so much of Sense and Sensibility. For that, I am grateful for this readathon!

Jayme, I have wanted to hit the women/girls over the head or give them a good slap more than once. :) I did notice that this book is on the satire list...which helps me feel a bit better about my response. And, to answer your question, it did neither for me...not sensible nor did it make much sense at times.

Jane Austen was known for social satire. I find reading her stories with an ear to that actually can make some of them pretty humorous.

I think if I had know that, before I started reading her at this stage of my life, I might have enjoyed her books better. She is not one of my favorite authors at all...but she is a writer of classics, which I am trying to read.

My first and last post! (My phone doesn't let me post in discussions for some reason and I was in the hospital for nearly the entirety of this read-a-thon.)
Sleeping Giants - 230 pages
From Here to Eternity: Traveling the World to Find the Good Death - 272 pages
Hiding in the Bathroom: An Introvert's Roadmap to Getting Out There - 41 pages
Queen of Shadows - 83 pages
And that's all I managed during four days of attempted induction, before we gave up and opted for a c-section and pretty much all reading ceased.

And, congrats, Ashley

Those 4 days must be uncomfortable but at least you got to read ;)
If bub didn't want to come out, I'm guessing it's a boy? lol
Hope all's well with you & bub

Yes, we had a boy. Baby Maslow finally joined us on Thursday November 16th at 4:23 pm, 15 days past his due date. He weighed in at 8lb 14oz. And we're all just completely in love with him.
