Mad About Series Challenge - 2018

Not yet. I read only 2 books of Courtney Milan so far. The Duchess Wars and the prequel novella.

Mariana, you and I are in for this buddy read so far. We can discuss a preferable time, next month."
Yay, I picked up the box set on kindle a while ago so I'm all set.
And thanx for going so slow on the Desperate Duchesses series with me, I don't think I could read these all in a row.

I too couldn't have read the entire series in a row, if not for our BR:)
I got the entire boxed set of Brothers sinister series at the beginning of this year for the price of a single book!

I have not. I own the prequel and the first couple books in the Brothers Sinister Series, so those will be re-reads for me. I will have to purchase the others when we get to them. I have not read anything else by Courtney Milan.
Recommend it?

I've only read those two books as well. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the romance, and so I haven't read anything else by Courtney Milan. However, I do want to try reading the Turner series since I bought the box set a few years ago when it was inexpensive.

Very Very Highly. If you liked the Brothers Sinister series you will love the Turner series. It is much better than this one IMO.

The Turner series is way better than this one. Luckily my introduction to CM was via that series or else if I had read Brother Sinister first I would have been very dissapointed and not read anything more by her.

Thank you for the recommendation. I added it to my list.

It’s be much more recent since I read the Turner series than Brothers Sinister, but I do agree. I really enjoyed the Turner series too.

I generally have an audio & my kobo going at the same time. I'm in between series at the moment. I've read the ones that peak my interest from the library.
Looking for a series to start.

I will definitely keep that in mind and might read it afterward.
Although I have not read the entire series,The Duchess War is one of my favorite books. I have read it three times. I love a well-written and sexy virgin hero.

What type of series are you looking for Dawn?

I too loved The Duchess War and I hope the rest of the series is as good as this.

Depending, right now I'm reading a lot of highlander series. Paula Quinn, Maya Banks, Hannan Hanowell think I spelled that wrong
I really enjoy most series. Any suggestions?

Julie Garwood's highlander books are good. She wrote 2 highlander series. Highland's lairds(3 books) series and Laird's fiancées series(2 books). You can give these a try.
I enjoyed the Return of the Highlanders series by Margaret Mallory. And have been enjoying Jennifer Ashley’s Mackenzie & McBride series.

3.5 stars. I'm quite liking although not *loving* the series.
Mods, can you please up my level to 'Addictive' as I've got 4 series on the go now LOL.
I've finished The Ravenels (till the next one comes out next year, anyway!), just a novella to go for Rules For the Reckless, still three to go and a novella for Spymasters, and six (!) to go in Pennyroyal Green.

Done!

Wonderful! I am glad you are enjoying it!
Wonderful! I am glad you are enjoying it!

I have two series to complete (about six books more??). The last book I read from this challenge was back in August! Completing Alec Mackenzie's Art of Seduction this month was the first book since then.

Congrats, Joanna! I was a little too ambitious and got burned out. I finished quite a few series. But I will have to finish a few next year.

I ended up adding one that I already completed to get to the right amount books for the same reason, Mariana.

For both challenges, I have changed much of what I started to whatever worked best for me later.

It was the only reason I finished also! Buddy reading helped me through two series, but that is one I would not have finished on my own for sure!

Woot!
I also only got through the desperate duchess series thanks to a buddy read with Pirya.

Buddy reads with Lorien and Mariana helped me complete 2 series.

The Brothers Sinister series by Courtney Milan is the best series I read this year. I am planning to read the rest of her series for next year challenge. I hope they are as good as this series.
What is your favourite series this year?

Jennifer Ashley’s Mackenzie & McBride series was my favorite of the series I kept track of and one of my favorites overall. I also enjoyed discovering Anna Bradley.
Courtney Milan is quite good overall. I really enjoy her Turner series. Her latest is OK. I have not read a few of hers, which I might add for next year too.

I was a bit disappointed in Meredith Duran's Rules For The Reckless series. I did finish that series too (except I haven't read the novella Your Wicked Heart yet), and I had really liked some of the earlier books, but didn't enjoy the last two that much - A Lady's Code of Misconduct, and The Sins of Lord Lockwood. I know lots of people love both of those books, but for me they were two of the weakest in the series :(
I read some of the Pennyroyal Green series (Julie Anne Long), but haven't finished with them yet, and same for Joanna Bourne's Spymasters. I will go back to both of these in 2019. So, two series completed out of 4. Could have been worse, I suppose.

I read 2 books in Mackenzies series and loved them. I haven't got to the other books, yet. I have to try reading them next year.

Although there were only two books, my favorite series was Highland Trouble Series by Amanda Forester. I had not read anything by her before this year and definitely plan to put another of her series on my 2019 challenge.

I read #1 in this series this year, and enjoyed it, so I might try more from the series next year.
