Mad About Series Challenge - 2018
There’s a narrator for some Eloisa James books that I can not listen to, and that is Justine Eyre. Her male voices just irritate me.

Yes. There were a few readers, who didn't see him as a hero at all
Melissa wrote: "There’s a narrator for some Eloisa James books that I can not listen to, and that is Justine Eyre. Her male voices just irritate me."I don't like her as a narrator either.
Andrea (Catsos Person) is a Compulsive eBook Hoarder wrote: "Lorien, Is DiW the book with the female narrator that sounds like an old lady?"
I have the audio and the narrator is Rosalyn Landor. I like this narrator. But everyone likes or dislikes narrators for different reasons!
Melissa wrote: "There’s a narrator for some Eloisa James books that I can not listen to, and that is Justine Eyre. Her male voices just irritate me."Justine Eyre is the worst! She sounds too old to me.
Priya wrote: "If you are planning to continue with the rest of the series and feel fine to have a buddy, please let me know. I'd probably be done by now, but I got way more into my medieval pick for RATA.
Melissa wrote: "Geri, Justine Eyre’s make voices just sound creepy to me. Your right. She sounds too old."@Geri/Melissa, as a narrator she is too nasal for me and makes me not want to listen to her voice at all. She has a tendency to drag her syllables that irritates me. LOL
Lorien wrote: " .....This would be great Priya, I plan to finish the first one up this month and start the 2nd in April. So, if we are having a BR for Desperate Duchesses in April, I can finish the first one by that time and join you for the rest of the series. Good for you?

Lorien wrote: "Sounds like a plan..."I finished reading Book#1 of Desperate Duchesses series. I created a BR thread for the series.
For those that have Galen Foley's Knight Miscellany series listed, how are you doing? Anyone ready for Lady of Desire?
Joanna Loves Reading wrote: "For those that have Galen Foley's Knight Miscellany series listed, how are you doing? Anyone ready for Lady of Desire?"Joanna,
How is the series working for you?
I added the Knight Series once I saw that a couple of other members had it listed. However, I don’t know that I can read that whole series at this time (though it’s in my top two last bed series’!)
Do you want a buddy read of LoD? I haven’t spent time with Billy lately...
I read the first three in 2017, so I haven't read it in a while. I think Lorriidae is also doing this series, not sure if any others are.
I am always up for a Buddy Read. Maybe later in April?

Wow! Congratulations on completing the challenge in just 3 months.
Thanks...this is my travel season with my job so some audio and reading makes for great company when on long plane rides.

Wow Missy! I just read through your tracker. You have great taste and a lot to read.
Oh, thank you! Yes, I do have a lot to read. I’m a bit behind since I haven’t been reading books from my list in the past month or two. But I’m reading two books from my list now so I should be back on track.

I decided to update my series some. I have already started and am caught up on two series this year that I was not counting, so I decided to remove one series that I haven't started yet and add them. It was also one by an unfamiliar author, which I may not have wanted to read more of. I hope I do though. So, suddenly I was behind schedule and am now ahead of schedule! Woot!

I just finished the American Heiress in London series by Laura Lee Guhrke. I never read this author before. I actually loved How to Lose a Duke in Ten Days. A 5 Star Read for me. But the last 2, Catch a Falling Heiress and No Mistress Of Mine were disappointing. Too much bickering and not enough passion or emotion. No Mistress of Mine was a RITA winner too, so I hoped for better. I was just wondering if others read this series too and what you thought?
I actually loved No Mistress of Mine, but not so much on the Catch a Falling Heiress. No Mistress seems to be a love it or hate book.
Joanna Loves Reading wrote: "I think LLG tends to be hot or miss; it’s more if the story appeals."I agree. Not liking Catch a Falling Heiress and then reading No Mistress of Mine right after, probably affected my feelings too.
I read (listened) to the first three in quick succession, and waited a while before the last one. I am sure that helped.

Catch a falling Heiress was my least favorite.
Overall, though, I liked the series as a whole.
I started The Rogue Not Taken by Sarah MacLean last night and I am already a third through it. I'm enjoying it a lot, plus it's funny.

I’ve read a few by MacLean and enjoyed them. I’ll add this one to my list.
Just finished reading the Emmeline Truelove series. Not the series I had planned on reading this year but anyway! The prequel novella was probably my favourite but the other two books are strangely compelling also even though they do move away from traditional historical romance at times. I'll definitely read Juliana Gray again.
Lee wrote: "Just finished reading the Emmeline Truelove series. Not the series I had planned on reading this year but anyway! The prequel novella was probably my favourite but the other two books are strange..."
Book 1 of the series is $11.99 in the kindle store. I’ll have to see if my library has the book, or maybe buy a used hard-copy.

I have never read Juliana Gray. This is the series I have marked to read, but my library definitely does not have any of these three books. It is the price that holds me back.
Mariana wrote: "It is the price that holds me back. "I listened to the two full length novels on audio, so it was the price of my subscription. I would definitely try and get them at a reduced price or via the library as they aren't the normal historical romance and probably not everyone's cup of tea.

Missy wrote: "I finally finished The Hathaways series by Lisa Kleypas!!!"Congrats! How did you like it?
The series was good. Favorite to least favorite book in the series: Wynn, Beatrix, Amelia, Poppy, and Leo. I think I’ll read a book from the Bridgertons next.

We have the same favourites! I liked Wynn and Beatrix the most.
Bridgerton's are funny and cool. I hope you like them.
According to the challenge tracker, I am 4 books behind the schedule. How is everyone doing with their series reads?
