For my first book, I chose option 1 and read Apex by Mercedes Lackey, one female author, published in 2017 (so after 1998). I read the kindle edition - for page purposes, the hardcover (no MMPB or paperback) edition, Apex, has 304 pages.
For my second book, I chose option 4 and read The Gathering. Main page genre Cultural>Ireland, and noted in the Help Thread, post 3. 261 pages.
304 + 261 = 565, exceeding required 500 pages.
30.6 - Diana K's task: Fall Baking
I don't bake much, so I used the recipe from the help thread to choose my books.
For my first book, I used Option A and read One Salt Sea (I read the kindle edition - link is to the top MMPB - 354 pages). Salt is an ingredient in the recipe.
For my second book, I used Option D. The recipe makes 12 servings, so I read Making the Cat Laugh, with 212 pages.
Total pages: 354 + 212 = 566, exceeding minimum page requirement of 500.
