I chose option 1 and read 2 books from the Rory Gilmore Reading List.
For my first book, I read Daughter of Fortune. I listened to the audiobook - the top MMPB is Fille du destin, 445 pages. It's on p.2 of the list, currently #131.
For my second book, I read The Children's Hour, 124 pages. It's on p.3 of the list, currently #215.
445 + 124 = 569 pages, exceeding the 500 page requirement.
