25.7 - TrishHartUK's Task: Strawberries and Cream

Strawberries and cream are one of the things that sum up the summer for me, be it in a picnic, or at an outdoor concert or sporting event, or just as a feel-good food when it’s raining (which it often does in summer in Britain!). This is a two-book task. Choose two options and read one book from each of your chosen options.
REQUIRED: State the options that you chose.

Option 1: Strawberries and cream are a simple pleasure, so to start simply, read a book by an author whose first and last initials can be found in STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM. One qualifying author in a book with multiple authors works.

Time and Time Again by Ben Elton
STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM

Option 2: Strawberries and cream are a great combination. Read a book with two authors either writing under both names (like Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö), or using a single name (like Victoria Abbot, which is a combined pen name for Victoria Maffini and Mary Jane Maffini). REQUIRED: For two authors writing under a single name, please include a link to the GR author page (or some other source) which clarifies this.

The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan

I read Seeing Red, with the summer moon word "red" in the title.

10.10. Gimme S’more
I read Last Scene Alive by Charlaine Harris. This book was new to me, but I have read many books by this author, most recently A Fool and His Honey.

50.1 - Diane's Task: On the Mend

For my first book, I chose option 1, and read This Fight Is Our Fight - 352 pages. The verb "fight" was approved in the help thread, post 74.

For my second book, I chose option 4, and read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. I listened to the audiobook - the MMPB is 501 pages - Un jardin dans les Appalaches. The book is found on p. 3 of the Medicine and Literature list - currently number 227.

For my third book, I chose option 6 and read On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century by Timothy Snyder - 128 pages. Author initials TS found in phySical Therapy.

Total pages - 352 + 501 + 128 = 981, exceeding the required 801 pages.

Option 2. Armchair Travel
I read Mrs. Pollifax and the Hong Kong Buddha. Mrs. Pollifax and the Hong Kong BuddhaThis book was from your Post #4. it was 224 pp

Option 3. Variations in Theme.

Read a book with a title that describes your summer or current state of affairs. The title can range anywhere from a one-word title to a complete sentence. REQUIRED: Briefly explain how this title applies to you.

I read House of Spies, House of Spieswhich is what I feel like this summer, trying to convince people to do things (the kids, that is) by seeing what they are trying to do in secret and gently guiding them into what I want them to be doing. This books is a ******BIG BOOK**** at 528 pages.

Option 6: Physical Therapy
After surgery, I thought the pain would soon become a thing of the past, as with other surgeries I had in the past. Wrong! A “perk” of orthopedic surgery is aggressive physical therapy. It is extremely helpful and often extremely painful.

Read a book by an author whose first and last initials can be found in PHYSICAL THERAPY. Middle name initials may be ignored. Letters may only be used as often as they appear. Spaces determine names. One qualifying author in a work by multiple contributors works.

I read Believe Me: A Memoir of Love, Death, and Jazz Chickens, by Eddie Izzard, Believe Me: A Memoir of Love, Death, and Jazz Chickenswhose initials are found in the words Physical Therapy ("E" and "I") This book had 348 pp.

214 _+528 + 348 = 1,090 which is more than 801 pp
