I chose the one book option and read The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch - I listened to the audiobook but linked to the top MMPB - 722 pages, so over the required 500 page minimum.
This book actually fits all three options -
1. it's his debut work, according to the GR description and his author page, and he's a new author for me.
2. it's the first book in a new to me series - Gentleman Bastard #1.
3. the word TOLL can be made from the initial letters of the words of the title: TLOLL - TOLL.
25.6 - Lavender's Task: Derivative Work
For my first book, I read House of Names, which is a retelling of my second book, The Oresteian Trilogy.
In case the relationship isn't clear enough from the GR description, here's a link to a review in The Guardian, "brilliant retelling of a Greek Tragedy."

30.5 - Catherine T's Task: Inspired by Books - Books with the main page genres of Graphic Novels/Manga/Comics are allowed for this task as long as they meet SRC requirements.
1. Re-read a book you last read a decade or more ago, to see how you or it has changed over time. REQUIRED: state that it's a reread and that you've not read it for at least a decade.
X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga (Uncanny X-Men
I read these comic books when they were released monthly in 1980, and they were impactful then in ways that are still rippling through the X-Men titles today (2012's "Avengers Vs. X-Men" event centered on how the next Phoenix Force host should be prepared to prevent a repeat of the Dark Phoenix Saga).
Reading it as a single tale in one volume is interesting. The Byrne/Austin art team is at the top of its game in these issues, but this way I can see the deterioration of the art in the last chapter (FedExed pages were stolen, & the artists had to re-create them quickly under intense deadline pressure.)
2. Read a book with all author initials found in the two phrases SO IT GOES and/or I CHING. You can use both phrases - Graham Greene would be acceptable, for instance, using 1 G from "Goes" and 1 G from "Ching."
Unnatural Creatures: Stories Selected by Neil Gaiman by Neil Gaiman
For this task, you may read 1 or 2 books, but you must read a minimum of 600 pages.
