Judging June Challenge 2017
I finished my second
(appropriate cover) ★★★★My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My next book is
(cover I don't like) I am liking the writing a lot so far but am not loving the plot.
Finished my 2nd book:9. Reader's choice.
I chose this cover because the dingo (not dog as I initially thought) disappearing down the desolate road seemed to draw me to this book. I missed reading this book previously and am so pleased I got to read it for this challenge.
Finished my 4th / 9Appropriate Cover
The World According to Bob: The Further Adventures of One Man and His Street-wise Cat by James Bowen ★★★★★

Brenda wrote: "Bad cover - bad contents! Bad luck Suzie :("I feel a bit mean, as it's a first novel set in a location I really love - Warrnambool. I think a bit of quality editing could have made a lot of difference
I've changed my selections again! Hope it's allowed! I've substituted The Other Einstein for Goodwood on pragmatic grounds - I own Goodwood & can read it at any time but have The Other Einstein from he library! I'm also thinking that 9 books was a bit ambitious, but what the heck!
Have finished Spirits of the Ghan by Judy Nunn. It's an Aussie book set in central Australia when the railway from Alice Springs to Darwin was bing built, not all that long ago. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 3/9A cover that you love:
by Elizabeth HoneyMy review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Has anyone read this? I was shocked to find that none of my Goodreads friends have! It's a classic Aussie kids book about the neighbours from hell. Recommended for anyone who needs a laugh.
Finished my first one for this challenge last week 7. A flowery cover: The Perfumer's Secret by Fiona McIntosh 4★

7. A flowery cover - The Green Mill Murder by Kerry Greenwood
*Currently Reading* ~ 8. A scenic cover - The Silk Thief by Deborah Challinor
9. Reader's choice. Tell us why you chose this cover :) - ... I love the simplicity of this cover - Emblaze by Jessica Shirvington
I am currently reading my #5 cover that you love.
by Anne McCaffreyI found it at the back of one of my bookshelves and just had to read it again, it has been years!
This cover is associated for me with the revelation I felt as a teenager when I discovered fantasy fiction. While I don't feel it is the most brilliant cover ever developed, and I am not convinced the artist ever read the book, this cover gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling just to look at. Great book too btw.
Finished my second:4. A really appropriate cover.
Welcome To Orphancorp by Marlee Jane Ward AA ★★★★★Fantastic book!
My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I've finished this challenge. I only went for the Easy level as I want to concentrate on the Winter Challenge.
Just finished my first fir this challenge: Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. I really had to push through the first half of this one. Having recently re-listened to 'The city of bones' as an audiobook, I was finding it difficult to connect with the characters. But then came the second half... Boy was it worth the wait! Once the action kicked in, the characters lost their 2D quality & really came to life. The plot also became much more interesting as connections finally started to be made. I can't say much about with our ruining it but I will say that it was definitely worth pushing through the tedium at the start & bumped my overall rating up significantly. 4★

It is a recommended text that children in Queensland Year6 state schools can use. Haven't read it myself but lots of kids in Queensland have. I have read her other one - Don't Pat the Wombat, also a recommended Year 6 text. I enjoyed that book.
