That happened to me as well. I ended up abandoning the book I began thirty odd years ago. It was so dated it couldn't be saved.

Carole, I have 2 such works sitting in boxes in our basement. Sad. Huge Hugs

Simi Sunny | 93 comments I understand how you're feeling, Alex. In fact, I'm having the same feeling with my book. It looks like I won't be able to finish my WIP within a year, since I've been both busy and tired that I'm losing focus. 😩

I was so happy that I was haply when I writing within one week. Where did it all go wrong?

message 607: by Simi (new)

Simi Sunny | 93 comments I know. I've been stressing out since the first week of January. Not a good start to the new year for me, sadly :(

Feel better and speedy recovery, Alex. If you lived nearby, I'd bring you soup.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments One day at a time, Alex. Tomorrow should find you a little improved and every day after that - and just maybe there'll be some good news just around the corner.

Simi Sunny | 93 comments I can't believe they made a big deal from where I'm living, but there was not much snow. Anyone else had any big snow???

message 624: by Simi (new)

Simi Sunny | 93 comments I know! I was mad that there wasn't much when I woke up 😑

A few flakes in Baltimore. A tiny bit of snow, too. ;-)

message 626: by Simi (new)

Simi Sunny | 93 comments I'm the same. Wish there was more

message 628: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments No snow is SE England yet. Sleet last night. It's chilly.

message 629: by Simi (new)

Simi Sunny | 93 comments Definitely chilly from where I'm living. Brrrr!

Hey, Carole, I hope you got my email. I sent to you the minute I recieved word about the giveaway.

message 630: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments Just driven back from the Isle of Wight where it was sunny and bright and the ferry trip was smooth. On the mainland I realized why everyone was talking about snow. There was snow all around, not deep; it was the nice, pretty sort! The sun had melted a fair bit but we still found snow in our garden on arrival home. So, D.J., I'm not sure why your patch of Kent missed out! Maybe tonight...

message 631: by Simi (new)

Simi Sunny | 93 comments Glad you're moving, though, Alex.

Hope you had a fun trip, Anna.

message 632: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments Ah... as I drove up through Hampshire, there was little, but in Sussex and Surrey and Kent, it was really pretty, enough to be pleased without slushing up the roads. My bit of Kent looked nice, I think it's Debz who's missed out. Her turn might come tonight - yours too, Alex.

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 970 comments As snow makes a pretty view, I hope it holds off in our area a bit. I also hope they are wrong about the freezing temps we are due for in New England. I'm having another procedure Friday where they'll be shoving needles in my back, which is excruciating enough. I don't need to hurt more because of the cold weather. I'm scared. Hugs

message 634: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments Oh Sam, try not to be scared. Stress exacerbates pain because you tense up. Hope you will be warm and hugged!

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 970 comments Alex, Thank you for your good wishes. I've had this particular procedure once before and it lasted 20 to 30 minutes and I cried out loud gripping the gurney the entire time. No fun.

Anna, Thank you for your advice. I will be hugged when they are through with me and help me get back to my husband in the waiting room. He's not allowed in the treatment room. I wouldn't want him to see me suffer like that anyway.

Thinking of you, Sam!! Wishing you a speedy recovery, too.

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 970 comments Carole, Thank you very much! Hugs!

Alex, Yes, this is true. My husband will bring me home and settle me onto the sofa and pack my ass in ice. The dogs will surround me and keep me warm and comfortable while he goes off to work. Hugs!

message 638: by Carmel (new)

Carmel Hanes Best wishes to both Alex and Sam in your physical health prodeures and recoveries. Heart..

message 639: by Simi (new)

Simi Sunny | 93 comments Oof doesn't sound fun, but I know you have to do it to feel better. I hope you feel better and that it'll be over, Sam.

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 970 comments Alex, I will be thinking of you while I'm on the sofa smothered in blankets and dogs. Wishing you comfort and a speedy recovery. Hugs

Carmel, Thank you for your good wishes. Hugs

Simi, Thank you for your positive hopes. Hugs

Simi Sunny | 93 comments Well, I never thought I would be bed-ridden again. After recovering a cold, I was doing well, until I'm dealing with tummy aches. On the bright side, I'm enjoying some anime ^^ Anyone heard of My Hero Academia? I'm watching Season one episode 2.

message 643: by Simi (new)

Simi Sunny | 93 comments Hehe yeah ^^ Well, you coukd say I'm couch-ridden, because I'm lying down on my couch lol

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments In other news, having not seen one page read whilst having Missing Remnants in KU and also having some basic Amazon ads running, its stint in KU is over and I'm throwing it out directly to Kobo and also to D2D again. I can't bring myself to do Smashwords, I'm too damn tired!

My stint with KU will be over on Feb 24th too. I going to try my luck going wide and see what happens.
It will be interesting to see what happens for you!

message 650: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments Oh, I don’t sell books Alicya, I’m resigned to that now. The cost of useful marketing is prohibitive until I have more titles out and can give one away for free. That might help. I hope it works out for you.

Alex, I’ll see what channels that have and look into that. Thanks.
