You've nothing to worry about where we're concerned. To quote Han Solo, "We're all fine, here, now. How are you?" ;-)

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 970 comments Hi & Hugs to All!!
Good News - Hubby is home and all is right with my world again... as good as it can be with someone as mentally and physically ill as me. Ha, ha.

Bag News - I have a change of the season cold and feel like crap. Trying to keep Hubby from getting it, but we all know that's just not possible. He has upped his vitamin C intake, however, which often works for him.

Good News - I took photos of several paintings from when I first started yeeeeaaaarrrrss ago. I paint for fun and relaxation. I posted some of them as photos on my Medium articles where I didn't have a photo. On Medium, I prefer to use one of my photos or nothing. Don't know why. Anyway, though these are all old articles, I doubt anyone will see my paintings. That's okay because I enjoyed doing it.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day and feeling well. Hugs, Sam

We haven't changed the clocks back yet, Just thinking about it makes me sad. I, like you, NEED the sun. Hugs

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 970 comments What I thought was a change of season cold turned into the flu a few days ago. Glad I can't transmit this online! I've got some catching up to do on Medium. Hugs to All, Sam

Dennis Meredith (dennismeredith) | 141 comments Just attended the La Jolla Writer's conference. I will post more later but here are a couple of things I learned. Go to Amazon and look at books that are similar to your books. Choose a book or two and look at the 5 star and the 1 star reviews. Everyone has people who love their books and those that hate them.

Then look at the Categories these authors use. You should change your categories at least every six months.

The conference was excellent, if anyone is interested in going to a writers conference next year here is a link to register for the 2019 La Jolla Writer's conference at $100 off. https://lajollawritersconference.com/...

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments OverwhelmedOverwhelmedOverwhelmed. I am doing too many things. Not getting enough sleep. Too much going on. For someone who likes routine and consistency I've been self-employed for almost eighteen years and it's doing my head in. I don't know what to expect from one day to the next. Need. A Break.

Take a deep breath and exhale- real slow. Then put all the stuff in a pile in the middle of your desk and go through it one by one. It worked for my character Susannah in Oh Susannah!!

message 584: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments I really thought you were going to say to put all the stuff in a pile in the middle of the desk and set fire to it.

I am mostly done. I have solved an insurance issue, sorted stock, fed humans, fuelled car, sorted shopping. There is one thing I cannot fix and I have an irritating work around for. My husband is now looking into it. I spent 2 hours getting nowhere today and that was after spending a similar amount of time a couple of weeks ago. It’s an IT thing. If it’s fixable he’ll manage it.

And the house is a tip. No change there.

message 585: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments It was a very sensible response. But I do like the idea of setting fire to something and walking away. I am going to well and truly flame that pudding on Christmas Day!

message 586: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments That’s very productive. I’m mostly frustrated. I think I just need a break.

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments I hope it goes ok for you on Christmas Eve. What an odd time to schedule an op.

message 589: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments I think you’re right. And it’s wise to just get on with it as soon as you can. If you drop off an NHS list like I did this summer and autumn you can end up in a worse state than you started.

Oh my heart goes out to you. I know the feeling. I've given up something I've really enjoyed doing but which required more time than I can give if I want to write, live and stay sane. Is there something you can give up?

As for the pile - that works. I put a note in my diary, just here and there, to spend a quarter of an hour on 'the pile' and I have a note under my screen which says 'Do one thing from the tray' and if I'm good and do one thing, I can turn it over and there's a pretty picture instead of the demanding notice. Sometimes it works!

I can tell :) And what makes me even more welcoming is that I get to see familiar faces. So now, I don't feel like I'm so stranger being casted off.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments Some of us pop in and then disappear for weeks on end - maybe doing writing! Or just busy with life in general. What is so nice is that nobody minds and nobody ignores you when you do make it back to the Navi family.

Welcome, Simi.
