Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. Its wonderful. Its around 7 hrs.
I mostly listened to it on walks, took a week.

I've been trying to listen to Dark Matter, but it's the first Blake Crouch book I've had trouble connecting with. Could just be the distractions around me when I'm doing my rehab though. Right now, I'm only on each machine for a few minutes until I build up my stamina, so I keep having to stop and start it again. By the time I got it from Ela, I'd either listen to it while I was walking at night or I'd be up to at least 15 minutes per machine (or 30 minutes on the treadmill).
oh Fabi! LOL, its OK. I had just decided on my pick for Tessa as I was sitting at my daughters dance competition but I'm keeping it a secret in case I get picked for Tessa a different month... or maybe Amy will pick the same book... who knows?!? its OK! no worries!

Okay Leslie. I have made my final selection. I won't force KA on you... well, kinda... going with KA Kinde.. heehee... Diamonds is your book!
*squeeeeee* I'm happy about Leslie's! I absolutely adored Diamonds! Total angst and... *sighs* The MC was so awesome, I promise!
Out for dinner with the family (aunt down from Manchester / lots of wine consumed) and see tons of updates - trying to keep up!Diamonds has been on my TBR for ages - may have to move it up!
Paula are you related to Oasis?
Lol, Nay. She is probably out on the water.

Oh....thats what they do in Manchester.

bev wrote: "Paula are you related to Oasis?Lol, Nay. She is probably out on the water."
bev--How so? I haven't been here long enough to hear about Jean and 'the water'???
Oooh, Ela! That looks like a good one! A lot of my GR friends 5-starred it!I have a box set of the first 3 pb's of that series but I've never read them.
Ela wrote: "So excited!"I hope you love this book as much as I do.
Nay Is Daughter of the Blood on your pick me shelf? If it is I will pick it if I get to pick for you another month. Or....you could just read it now. ;)
bev wrote: "Paula are you related to Oasis?Lol, Nay. She is probably out on the water."
Bev - no relation to Oasis - aunt moved oooop north from down south!
Anna wrote: "Ela wrote: "So excited!"I hope you love this book as much as I do.

No, actually I don't even have it on my tbr. One of the many among all these pb's around here that I've overlooked. And I haven't read it because I just haven't been ready to commit to such a huge series yet, but now that I read down the GR page, I see that it seems to be mainly a trilogy with added bonus stories??
I'll think about it and I can always add it and let you know if I decide to take the plunge. It definitely looks to be a book that people either love or despise!
Fabi wrote: "Paula, do you know of any other books like Gang Bang, with that lovely local dialect?"Bang Gang is set in Wales if I remember correctly - can't think of any books that come to mind but we have a great comedy based in Wales called Stella - not sure if you will get it over in the states. Tom Jones is a judge on our version of the voice and everyone always says he always go for the Welsh contestants!

Stella is a show not a book right?
aack, it doesn't have to be a Welsh dialect. I'm good with any book that highlights the various UK dialects.
I watch The Voice here too. :-) I pick up snippets of the best from other countries on YouTube.
Oooh, I love what was picked for me.
I'm not going to start on this until after I get all my other April reads done first. I have feeling I'm going to love this and I'll want to dive into rest of series immediately!
Fabi - yeah Stella is a show not a book and funny - mind you not sure whether non Brits would find it funny! There are some books that are very British - Lesley Jones and that C book come to mind! It makes me laugh when I read reviews about books written with the British dialect as there are always comments about people not getting the slang!
Nay, she has a boat she has talked about going out on with her husband and friends.
At least the second. Her story ends with the second. Someone else has book three and four (2.5 and 3?) and the last book is one last person.
Paula, I'm one of the people who get lost with the slang sometimes. I just google like crazy. Bang Gang, though, I pretty much kept my phone next to me as I read because of all the odd slang. I love it, though some of it makes me pause and think. Also, due to the american in me, I had troubles not giggling over not being awake until he's had three cups of brew, (tea). Most tea drinkers here don't acknowledge they need the caffeine in the tea.
Well heck! If I had a boat, I'd be out on it too! My MIL has a houseboat we used to go out on during the summer, and hubby has a fishing boat that he takes our boys out on. We love being out on the water--I just haven't been able to join in the past couple of years. He's already told me that I WILL be going this summer, and I'm like, 'Duh!' (just prob. not on the small fishing boat unless it's just him and me!)
Tessa, you read Bang Gang? I have to go see if you reviewed it. I've been staying away from other reviews because I'm afraid some will make me ragey. Ha!
Tessa - you can always ping me and ask if you get stuck on the slang! Brew commonly used to refer to tea - also sometimes referred to a builders - which is really strong tea - which I can't stand - normal tea for me!!
God, yes, I've been all over her website looking for more. But most of her books are straight up erotica. I generally prefer my erotica with a strong dose of romance.I even emailed her asking if she had any plans for more books following these characters. --- No answer yet, but will definitely let you know if I hear back.
I love the local dialects when I find them in a book. But there's nothing that beats British humor. It is always so surprisingly hilarious. Delivered deadpan and dry.
Now that I think of it, a little like our bev. bev, are you secretly British?
Lol.
Nope.
American, born and raised.
I do wish I had a British accent.
*sigh*
Id listen to myself talk all day.

It still makes me laugh. Thank you Paula. I might because sometimes I'm just staring thinking... I think I know, but... :D It's like being back in my English history class. Our teacher was from Scotland and he's be asked to translate something he said at least once a week. (He had a Scottish accent, so I really didn't mind being slightly lost.)
Fabi, I haven't even gotten around to reviewing it. I gotta say, I adored Trent but talk about they need to communicate! Face it, though. Most of our angst books would be solved if people would just talk to each other.
Bev - you make me laugh! I hear the British accent all day every day so don't see it as anything special! Mind you I do like the Liverpudlian accent (scouse) - anyone heard that?
Nay! Nay! NAY! I think I can give the book to more than one person! Do you want it. And its yours and i keep mine.
