And I'm forever 29, (im not really...but it makes me giggle) so that's all that really matters. Right?!? my oldest just turned 15. she says to me... "Mom, if I just turned 15 and you're telling people you're 29, that means that you had me when you were...." "yes dear, 14, I know how to add, it means your mother would have been a whore, I am also a labor and delivery nurse. want an up close and personal view of an unmedicated delivery?"

message 252: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Until I was probably about ten or eleven years old I believed my mum was 21 years old (strangely every birthday.......). It took a while for the penny to drop. I was a pretty innocent and unquestioning little girl. If my mum said it, it must be right, right?

message 253: by [deleted user] (new)

Whats with all these newbies being younger?
I dont like it.

message 254: by [deleted user] (new)

And now putting on my old fuddy duddy mature hat on. No one on here is a whore, ever. Especially though for their age when getting pregnant.

message 255: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Bev, no, not whores...."ho bags" ;)

message 256: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol.

No. No ho bags.

*puts foot down*

Open mouth... Insert entire leg, no disrespect intended, Michelle! Congratulations to your parents, that sounds, like my husbands gparents who, God rest their souls, married at 16 and 17 had been married for 56 years, and passed away on the same exact day. His gma had lung CA and had been on hospice and had finally passed on, his gpa... Actually passed on of a heart attack 3 hrs before she did.

message 261: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Now I'm curious! How old did you ladies think I am?

message 262: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Michelle wrote: "We are ROCK STARS ladies. We may be cougars, but we are über cool. Our rock band should be called "Wicked Picket Fence" ... greatest hits;

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Gah!!! I go out for one night (in a blue moon) and I have 2 pages to catch up on. And I missed all the fun! Yeah, not going out anymore. More fun to sit at home and chat with you ladies.

Name picks coming up! As soon as I get some coffee and Advil. :-/

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Pickers posted!

Since we have 15 participating, one person gets to pick twice.

Look over your pickee's shelf, select a book you want them to read this month, and add a post letting them know.

Fun!

:-)

message 272: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Thanks Fabi! So, to make sure I have this correct I am picking for person who's name next to mine (which is Jean) and Michelle is picking for me?

message 273: by Nay (last edited Apr 01, 2017 06:02PM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Yay! Checking list now...

Yeah, Leslie--I'm waiting for confirmation too. I think I know whose to pick, but I want to make sure.

message 274: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Jean, this is easey-peasey! My pick for you is Stepbrother Dearest Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward

I LOVED this. Don't let the "stepbrother" part deter you. This isnt a trashy stepbrother book, its a swoony romance.

message 275: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments So I pick for Renee, right??? Oh fun!

message 276: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments Oops. Got it wrong! Leslie here I come.,.

message 277: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Yeah, I'm picking yours, Michelle, from how Leslie did it. Checking your shelf now...

message 278: by [deleted user] (new)

Paula and I have each other, lol.

The Sky is Everwhere by Jandy Nelson, Paula.

message 279: by [deleted user] (new)

I dont even remember what I have on my own shelf.

message 280: by Ela (new)

message 281: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Stepbrother Dearest is one of the books that I never rated, but I loved it! Great pick, Leslie!

message 282: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments I've only read ONE on your list, Leslie, and that's not what I'd pick for you (Heaven & Hell), so let me research the others!!!

message 283: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Leslie, how do you do that book photo thingie?

message 284: by [deleted user] (new)

MichelleS, lol. I wondered about that, if we haven't read each other's books. I guess just what looks good.

message 285: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Michelle wrote: "I've only read ONE on your list, Leslie, and that's not what I'd pick for you (Heaven & Hell), so let me research the others!!!"

Why not? Heaven and Hell is awesome?

message 286: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Here you go, Michelle. Of course, I have to go with one of my all-time faves!

An Exaltation of Larks by Suanne Laqueur
An Exaltation of Larks (Venery, #1) by Suanne Laqueur

message 287: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments I also read Love in Rewind, apparently I gave it 3 stars. And Debt Inheritance is a doozy, and you need to read other books.... so.... I guess Heaven & Hell it is!

Ela - I loved H&H, it was during my KA binge. I gave it 5 stars. It's just not my favorite KA!

Leslie, are you a KA fan? And you just haven't read THIS one? Or you've never read any by her?

message 288: by Nay (last edited Apr 01, 2017 08:58AM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Ela, click on the 'add book/author' link, and at the very bottom of the search box, tick "add: 'cover'" . When you add the book, it'll be the cover instead of a clicky link.

message 289: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments RENEE!!!! There better not be crying! OMG. That book scares me!

message 290: by Nay (last edited Apr 01, 2017 09:01AM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I don't think I cried, but I don't normally. Some people may have (Robin can tell you).

I also loved Heaven and Hell!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Michelle wrote: "RENEE!!!! There better not be crying! OMG. That book scares me!"

LOL Michelle! I thought you didn't mind crying books. You sound like me.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Ela - you're reading Bang Gang? You'll have to let me know if you cried once you finish it.

message 293: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments Bev - choosing this one as it is on my TBR and sounds good - Song of the Fireflies by J.A. Redmerski

message 294: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Where's Jean this morning?! JEEEAAAANN!!!

message 295: by [deleted user] (new)

Awesome, Paula.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments oh, and yes, the first name picks for the second name on the list

I literally picked names out of a hat (a bowl). That was so much fun. I kept squeeing, XXX picks for YYY! LOL

I wanted to video it for you guys. Pajamas and bed head and all, but then I couldn't figure out how to show you the video. :-(

Maybe we can take turns matching the names every month. That was way too much fun.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments I was going to add that we have 5 days to pick. But I think that's totally unnecessary in this crazy group. We're all - now now now

message 298: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) That's hilarious, Fabi! It really doesn't take much to get all of us excited about anything to do with reading, does it? lol

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Grey!!! How could you do this to me?! How the hell am I supposed to pick one out of those 20?! Nope, nope. You're just going to have to read all 20 of them THIS MONTH. :/

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments shit, Grey, we need to talk...
