Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Use the following HTML tag.
Remove the quotes I added around the letter a of the tag.
Overwrite the URL with your own.
Overwrite "my link text" with your own text.

<"a" href="http://www.goodreads.com">my link text"a">

There are some HTML tips in the link in the upper right hand corner or the comment box. You can also look at w3schools.com html references.

Nay (4ukcats) Ok so I'm going to be trying this and editing in this post. Sorry, everyone. I'm going to figure this out again!

Pick For Me

Yay! I got it! I had already looked at the '(some html is ok)' link at the top, but I was just not 'getting it'. The lightbulb finally clicked! Thanks, Fabi!!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments There's a preview link right next to the post button, bottom left corner, that lets you see the results of your html code.

GR is pretty limited in the HTML it allows for users.

message 106: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Ela, funny you mention Fast & Furious...I've never even watched those movies but my son loves that "see you again" song and it makes me weepy. For some reason that song is ALWAYS on radio.

I cannot deal with fictional death, but when it's real life death...I practically need medication.

So when some of you are all gushing about "death books", I'm staying far, far away.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Yeah!!! You did it! Awesome.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Ugh! I'm so freakin' sleepy. I've been sitting here since 6am, thinking I need to shower and get to work. Still...Sitting here.

message 109: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Fabi--thanksk! I use that 'preview' link before every post, because anal!

Most websites that I've posted and labeled links on just allow me to type the text within the link and delete all the extra URL 'stuff' around it, and that's what was confusing me because GR wouldn't let me simply do that.

Yes, Leslie. I have a disease...

Pick For Me

message 112: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) But I have gotten rid of about 800-1000 books (and many more will be coming after what I saw yesterday). I think I've only added about 200 the last couple of days! lol

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments You did it Lisa! :-)

Renee, you've added 200 books in 2 days? :-O

message 114: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Yay! Lisa did it too! Once I figured out how to do it years ago (the other way I was talking about that does NOT work on GR), I never posted a gobbledy gooky clicky link again!

Yup! That Song!

Oh no! I'm wrong. I only added about 40 in the last 10 days. I just seemed like 200, I guess!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Oh, ok, ...Just 40 in 10 days...*eye roll*

I used to do that too!!! That's how my tbr got so out of control. Because no matter how much I read, it'll never be 4 books a day. I think the most I've ever read is two a day and that was unusual for me.

message 118: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I told you--I have a disease....

message 119: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) But you watch me--I'm going to get my 'to read' folder down under 1000. (it's over 2900 right now)

message 120: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Sorry guys, I don't "get" this html nonsense you speak of. (No lightbulb moment for me) I'm just going with the old fashioned copy & paste of the gobbledy gooky clicky link.

I'm with you on that Leslie...

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Renee wrote: "But you watch me--I'm going to get my 'to read' folder down under 1000. (it's over 2900 right now)"

Wow, that's a hell of a goal. I'm just trying to keep mine under 1500. I keep having to into it and delete every few days.

But I won't delete anything I own, even if it was free and I'll never read it. So there's a limit to how small it will ever get.

Ooh, that's true, Fabi. I'm guessing, but I'd say I have over 2000 free books from Amazon on my cloud, but I've marked only a fraction of them on GR. That's another project for another day though! lol I'll just choose to not think about those right now!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Renee you don't use the tool that automatically imports your Amazon purchases? That's been a life saver for me.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Ela wrote: "My Books: to-read‎ (3916)"

Alright then. o.O

message 127: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Fabi--I just noticed it for the first time last week. I didn't even know it existed, so I haven't done anything with it. I guess I'll start using it--that will help, Will it do all my old ones too or just as I make purchases??

message 128: by Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications (last edited Mar 29, 2017 07:27AM) (new)

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments It will add any on your Kindle cloud not already on your GR shelves. You still have to manually add a shelf for each one but it's still a lot quicker than doing it without the matching tool. You can do a few at a time. If you don't select a shelf, it'll show the books again next time you sync.

message 129: by [deleted user] (new)

I still do not have all of mine in. I use the tool, but sometimes I forget if ive read it or not. Or maybe started it. Some I have no memory of buying or what the book is about, lol.

message 130: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments And it doesn't get all of your purchases. I know there's tons more that aren't on GR that I have.

message 131: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments ELA!!!! That's like having 4000 pair of jeans in your closet. You'll never dig through them you'll just go to the store and buy a pair! OMG. Do you ever actually go through them and find something to read? That would give me hives.

message 132: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Believe it or not but I actually do go through it but I quite recently digress....

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments The names list in post 1 is current as of right now. If I missed your shelf link, please let me know.

Please check the link next to your name to make sure it is correctly going to your challenge thread.

I know Amy is working on her shelf. Anyone else still working on it? I'm happy to help with anything.

message 134: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Mine's good. Thanks Fabi!

Ela, Michelle needs to read Red Queen. I can't believe she hasn't yet. (On that note, I can't believe I haven't read the third book yet.)

message 135: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments She hasn't read THE GOAL!

message 136: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments I knew this would be a peanut throwing fest! I put some doozies on my list - this is really more of the April challenge, isn't it? read a book everyone but you has read! I can't WAIT to see what I get as my pick. (I can't believe I haven't read Red Queen yet either.)

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments I think EVERYONE has some books on their list that I want to read myself and likely have sitting in my tbr. But picking 20ish out of 1500 didn't allow for much wiggle room.

I'm happy though, because I'm currently reading two that I've wanted to read for a very long time. I'm always happy when I can get even a couple off my "really want to read this" tbr.

This is going to be so much fun especially when Grey came up with the brilliant plan of combining lists of pick for me and others favorites!

message 141: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments I was going to add Illuminae to the list - but if it got picked I'd have to read it, and I struggled with the e-book. With all the love it got, I feel like I really missed out.

message 142: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments I have that book on my TBR but for some reason I'm not jumping for the chance to read it...

message 143: by [deleted user] (new)

I have it for my Fabi pick on the buddy challenge. The hard back. Hmm. When I read it wish away to send on without giving out addresses.

message 144: by Paula (last edited Mar 29, 2017 11:10AM) (new)

Paula White | 800 comments Mines fine Fabi.

ELA - you make me feel so good about my purchases to read list at 3456 - I can buy hundreds more and not feel guilty!!

*nudges Grey, move over, you're hogging all the under rock area*

message 147: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments lol The Goal was great. But Michelle not reading Red Queen baffles me. :P

message 148: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Well I've got all of you beat. I haven't read Red Queen, Illuminae (but those are YA, which I very rarely read), nor have I read The Mistake or The Score because I thought The Deal was 'meh'. I need to 3-star it--it's one of those many books I haven't rated yet.

message 149: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) But I did read The Deal when I was going through my reading slump. Maybe I should give The Mistake a chance since so many love the series???

message 150: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments I haven't read Red Queen or illuminae. Read The Deal and two of the others but none as funny as The Deal. Loved it when she walks in to the mens changing room - "Penises! Sweet Jesus. Penises everywhere.!' Was on the train when I read that and people looked at me funny when I laughed.
