I can't figure out how to post to the Challenges area so I'm just putting this here. But I think we're going to need some housekeeping soon with the amount of BR threads and challenges, etc. that are piling up jumbled together.

Alright, so the idea behind this challenge is for each person to create a special GR shelf with 10-20 (15-30?) books that we want to read but for whatever reason we haven't gotten to them yet.

It has to be a special shelf with a limited amount of books because one of our buddies is going to look through it and pick one for us to read. General tbr shelf won't work because some of us (ahem...me) have over 1500 books in tbr. :-O

So, once you create a shelf, call it Pick Me or Pick For Me (or give us some name suggestions), add the agreed number of books (20ish?), THEN, come back here and link your shelf on a post in this discussion.

You can always switch out books on your shelf. It's not as if once you select the books they're on there permanently. As long as you keep the quantity limited, you can switch books in and out as often as you like. Of course, once a book is picked for you to read, you probably shouldn't come back and say 'sorry, I took that book off my shelf' (lol - not nice)

PICKERS and PICK(EES)
On April 1st, there will be a random drawing to determine who picks for whom. It's not a two way pick, it only goes one way. For example, Robin picks for Nay, but Nay picks for Fabi and Fabi picks for Bev, etc.

The PICKER looks through the PICKEES' shelf and comes back to post the book selection for the PICKEE.

Then, the PICKEE has, depending on whether it's a quarterly challenge or a monthly challenge, either until the end of the month, or until the end of the quarter, to come back and post that they've read it and their reaction to it.

Here's the beauty of it, if the PICKEE doesn't like it, it's all on the PICKEE, because she put it on her shelf. The PICKER only chose one of the books on the special shelf. So, no worries if you don't like it or dnf or whatever. It was your book choice and the PICKER only gave you a timeframe to go ahead and read it.

Alright, so...Questions, ideas, suggestions...Who's interested or should we postpone 'till next year or whatever?

It's hard to pick just a few when we have such extensive tbr lists!

I tried to add a variety of old & new with multiple genres.

There's something to be said for going through our large tbrs. Admittedly, I don't do it often. But when I do I can't help but wonder why I'm still buying books when I haven't had time to read the ones I have yet.

Yup, I'm good either way. The logistics are easy for me since I basically sit in front of a computer all day. The reading time is more difficult, but I know I can squeeze in a book a month. Especially for my friends here!

lol Ela, there area a few of us that haven't read that one. Big reason for me? Maryse actually said she only read one sad book all year, and it was It Ends With Us. That had me running the other way.
