Oooh, the dark fae book! Or something. I'm not quite sure what but the blurb made me happy. Thank you Amy!!

Renee! I'm sorry! Out of your list, I've read 3, so I'm picking the one I gave 5 stars.Leave Me Breathless
Leslie wrote: "Jean, this is easey-peasey! My pick for you is Stepbrother Dearest
I LOVED this. Don't let the "stepbrother" part deter you. This isnt a trashy stepbrother..."
I love your pick Leslie! Thank you! It will be next in my lineup!
Robin wrote: "Lisa, I'm going with Comfort Food because it was on my TBR too for a while! IDK why it isnt anymore! I need to add it back. It sounds really good."I am on it...good pick, Robin!!! I can't wait!!!
Yay, Jean! Thank you--I've been needing to read that for 5 years! I'll put it up next!bev--got it! Thanks so much! I'm going to straft listening to it on my next walk (today, if I feel like it) I'll let you know how it goes.
Oh, good, Nay.
This is fun to me on two parts. One just see see the regular book reaction for a book I enjoyed.
Two it is only my 3rd audio book. One was David Sedaris which he read himself, and I enjoyed a lot, but he makes me laugh. The other a novel I feel asleep during and never finished.
So I am curious as to how others respond to the narration, especially those who listen to audio often.

Yay, bev! I'll keep you posted.
I didn't realize you were new to audiobooks. If you plan to delve more into them, check out Maryse's post of my top 10 (well, there are actually more than 10, of course!) I listed a variety of genres because my main concern is ALWAYS with the narration, and I've skipped around a lot to find great narrators since a man doing a female voice in a sex scene (or vice versa) is just WRONG to me! lol

Nay, I read a ton of audiobooks and almost all of them do the thing you hate. Even if its dual POV with m/f narrators. Like say its chapter w/h's POV and she is quoting conversation with H. The narrator does the voice for both the h & H. I hate it, but I've just resigned myself that its how it is. If I get immersed in story enough, I learn to tolerate it.
I guess I have a horrible male 'head' voice. Because a good narrator can always read the male parts better than I can in my own head. :-)
I enjoy male narrators more than female for romance, and I can adjust if I have to (if the book is good enough), but I've just started mainly listening to urban fantasy with great female narrators and mystery/thrillers so that I don't have to worry about a great storyline getting ruined in my head. Of course, there are exceptions in romance, especially PnR, like Robert Petkoff, who does the Immortals After Dark series wonderfully!
Renee wrote: "I enjoy male narrators more than female for romance, and I can adjust if I have to (if the book is good enough), but I've just started mainly listening to urban fantasy with great female narrators ..."I enjoy male narrators more than female for any genre. But, and thats a big BUT, male over female with all other things being equal. Because there are great narrators, good narrators, and not so good narrators of both genders. I will always prefer the more skilled narrator regardless of gender.
I wish I'd kept track of the narrators I really loved in the past. I always check to see what other books they've narrated but I don't keep a list of the really great narrators.
So far I'm really enjoying my pick! Thanks Anna! I just hope I don't get sucked into the series....lots of books little time
You want to know something. I frigging love US! I love that we don't hold back. I really love that we are all so damn honest and tell it like it is. It's refreshing. We rock! I mean, we're polite and tactful... we're not rude or inconsiderate about it... but we don't pussyfoot around or give false or padded reviews. It's just so awesome. WE are awesome.
Sorry, I'm having an "I LOVE US" day!

Seriously Amy? I know the cock goes in the cunt then thrust, sometimes in the ass. When the cock ejaculates in the cunt or pussy and there are no barriers or stoppage a baby is made

No lie, you guys are the best! I always think what a hoot it would be if we all lived close enough to have a RL book club. (and pajama party in a tent with Manny and coktales).
Amy wrote: "Oh Ela...honey...we need to have a birds and bees talk."Amy is now banned from everyone's underaged daughters.
No Amy. Just no.
When my Mom explained girls monthlies to me, my only question was "what about boys?" Yes, I've always been a feminist at heart, even when I didn't know what it meant. Equal opportunity and all that. Her response was "they have their own thing".
No male heads involved in the conversation! Amy.
Of course, I was 8 years old...
;-) you know I'm teasing you Amy - *huggles*

My heart broke for Darren in that scene.
I guess you didn't cry though. I cried during several scenes. I hate crying but I loved this book.
*pouts* Fine. No talking about male heads. Does that mean I can't mention how my eyes bugged out of my head when a book described a guy's johnson (I don't think it was the H's) as "red and angry?"
I'm still scratching my head over that one...

OMG that sounds scary. Call a doctor!

Oh my eyes definitely watered with the scene in the bedroom with their eldest crying....
"Hi, I need to schedule an appointment with the doctor.""Okay, what is the appointment for?"
"My penis is angry."

I've read that in several books and always laughed! Picturing a live one-eyed snake spitting venom or jizz!

Receptionist:
"Is he spitting yet?"

Aaack, don't, I'll start crying again.

baaahahhahahahaha LOL out fu**ing loud!
OMG! Y'all are crazy today! I'm re-reading Debt Inheritance and it's like you ripped the quotes right from the pages! lol
I don't know how y'all find time for re-read. As much as I'd like to revisit a favorite book, I simply have too many new ones to try.
I love a re read. Its a comfort read. Plus, fun to rediscover moments that ive forgotten or to see with new eyes.
I have to sometimes to get myself out of a book funk, or if the book just is gnawing at the back of my head because it was so good.
In the book I'm reading, she says the guy smells like Autumn and football games??? What? What does a football game even smell like? That can't be good! We don't need descriptions. Just say he smells good.
So he smells like beer and hot dogs with a whiff of smoke.
Im reading a Tessa Dare historical and the mother of the h wants to prepare her for marriage.
"You see, a man's. ..ahem...is shaped differently from a woman's. ...." Mama fluttered her hand. " ....whatsit. And in the marital bed, he will wish to place his ....." More hand fluttering. "...inside yours."
"His ahem goes in my whatsit."

Fabi wrote: "I don't know how y'all find time for re-read. As much as I'd like to revisit a favorite book, I simply have too many new ones to try."Let's put it this way--it wasn't out of want; it was out of necessity. I NEVER re-read books.
When I committed my mind to reading a book from this series, I thought that I had read at least the first 2 or 3. Then when I started looking, it seemed that I'd only read the first one, so I decided to read the last couple of chapters and dive in to #2.
However....even though I'm POSITIVE I read this book when it first came out, except for a few of the main details here and there, I don't remember ANY of it. So...since it's only 220 pages, I just decided to read the entire book and thank goodness I did! I'm almost finished and I would've missed a ton if I hadn't re-read all of it.
I'm just wondering where my mind was when I read it the first time?!
