McKensie and Lara

London kissed his forehead. "And you did. But you need sleep too darling. I'll be back with your food." She promised, going into the kitchen to make him something.
Lexi bit her lip, wondering how much she should tell him. "It was rough..." She said honestly. She still hadn't gained her weight back from not feeding herself. "I... shut down." She said softly. That was the nicest way to put it.

Mark had fallen asleep before she could get back, he was out like a light his hand dangling off the side of the bed and snoring lightly.
Damon just held her tightly burying his face in her hair and allowing himself feel the pent up pain he was feeling.

London returned with toast and a glass of orange juice. She smiled softly when she saw him sleeping, and gently pulled the blanket over him, kissing his forehead. "Sleep well." She whispered, before leaving to feed Vallee.
Lexi held onto him, needed to feel him holding her again, sheltering her. He couldn't do that as a dog, and she had so desperately needed it. She found herself crying softly against him, shaking her head and mumbling. "I'm sorry..."

James woke up and smiled down at Em, but something was really digging at him...what was it?
Damon shook his head "shh it's ok...you are safe and I'm not going anywhere...but when did the car accident happen?"

Emily slept peacefully beside him, but her innerself was a war zone. A human becoming a demon had side effects. For Mark, it meant getting ice powers instead of the usual heat related ones. For Emily, it meant she had very little control over the tendency to burst in anger and heat. But for now, she was sleeping, and nothing showed.
Lexi nodded, just clinging to him, her face buried in his shirt. It helped calm her, the feeling and smell of him. "Right after I called you." She said softly. "The truck flipped. You went through the windshield and Dem got a concussion."

James slowly got out of bed and got dressed, he started up breakfast so it would be ready for her when she decided to get up. But, she could sleep as long as she wanted.
Damon flinched, his hands and jaw went tense and he shut his eyes tightly "how is Ddm now?.."

Emily woke up groggy, she moaned and rubbed her head. Getting out of bed, she tried to smooth her hair and looked behind her at the wings that had folded out by accident when she stood. She shook her head. "I'm going to have to get used to how to hide these things." She walked into the kitchen, completely oblivious that her irises were a nice shade of crimson.
Lexi smiled. "He's doing quite well. He took over being the man of the house quite nicely, taking care of the girls." She assured.

James smiled hearing her come in, he didn't turn around as he was buttering the toast for her. "Good morning lovely, how did you sleep?"
Damon smiled "that's my boy...how did the girls handle it?"

Emily smiled softly. "Morning. I slept well. I have a bit of a headache, but I'm sure that will go away." She walked over and hugged him gently. "And these dumb wings wont fold, but I'll get used to it I suppose."
Lexi smiled weakly and nodded. "Taylor cried and slept alot. Ash tried to hide in the downstairs bedroom. I think it made it worse that she could see my thoughts, see that I couldn't help her." She said honestly.

James moved quickly over and pressed her wings in, he kissed the nape of her neck "there you go darling...breakfast is ready."
Damon sighed "she's an old spirit in a young body..."

Emily smiled, relaxing a little. "Thank you." She whispered, kissing him and moving over to the table. "What's for breakfast?"
Lexi nodded to Damon in understanding, sighing a little. Her smile brightened when she saw the plate on her lap, a big mess of icing and sprinkles on top of a small piece of cake. "Thanks Taylor, thanks Zach!" She called, glad to have a distraction from the conversation. It had gotten way too close to her telling him how she almost killed herself.

James smiled "bacon, eggs, toast...a little of everything, I didn't know what you liked..." he grinned sheepishly.
Damon chuckled and scraped off some of the mountain of frosting. "Those two..."

Emily laughed softly, kissing his cheek. "You're too thoughtful." She said, plating some eggs and bacon for herself. "I'm not picky, so next time don't worry yourself ok?"
Lexi grinned, shaking her head. "They certainly are a pair." She agreed, biting hesitantly into the cake. It had way too much sugar in it, so so forced herself to swallow and then put it aside.

James pulled the chair out for her and poured her some juice "I will always worry, do not tell me not to darling."
Damon chuckled "we may get diabetes, trying to eat this...but it was very sweet!"

Emily smiled softly, nodding in resignation. "Well aren't you just the gentleman." She pecked his cheek, before drinking the juice. She was a little surprised at how fast she got annoyed, like at the annoying sound the glass made when it was set down, and the way her egg evaded her fork, but she didn't think of it as part of being a demon, or something that was wrong.
Lexi laughed softly. "Yes, very sweet. Literally." She pulled herself back over to Damon, cupping his face and kissing him gently. "I love you, you know that right?" She asked softly, looking in his eyes.

James eyed her as she kept making faces, he accidentally dropped the plate of toast "oops..." he mumbled and bent down to pick it up.
Damon nodded and kissed her gently "it's the one thing I do know. I wouldn't ever leave you alone if I could...you are my life honey."

The glass clattering on the tiles shot bullets in her nerves, and then the plate just kept rattling, around and around in a circle. She curled her hands into fists, her fingertips simmering with heat. "Just pick it up!" She snapped. She immediately paled after she had shouted, her hand flying to her mouth. "I'm... I... I'm sorry..." She stammered, not recognizing that tone of voice.
Lexi smiled, tears of joy filling her eyes. She hugged him tight, resting her head against his chest. "And you are mine." She whispered. "Quite literally." She winced, wishing she had not ruined the moment by thinking about his death.

James flinched back looking at her with wide eyes, he quickly picked it up and gently lay the plate on the table without sound. He never thought he would hear that anger in his Em.

Torch shot Mae a look and then followed Taylor to Zach quickly, sucking in a breath when he saw him. "Zach..." he whispered, about to ask what happened. But he decided against it, and just got to work on stopping the blood instead.
Emily bit her lip, feeling intense frustration, and intense sorrow at the same time. This wasn't her... something was wrong. "I'll be right back..." She murmured, leaving to his room. She shut the door quickly, but it hit the doorframe and swung open again, shutting it harder in frustration, she growled when it just slammed and opened again. Grabbing the doorhandle once more, her anger boiling over, she almost shrieked with the knob melted in her hands. Stepping back a bit, she stumbled and fell to the floor, her wings out. Tears filled her bloodred eyes and spilled down her cheeks.

Mae flew after him even though it was difficult with her stomach "Zach..." She stopped Torch from healing him "I'm going to need all your strength...my water is very much broken..."
James watched the scene, he slowly went to her side and took her hand but it was far too hot and he took it away quickly "Em?..."

Taylor moved over to Zach, gingerly cradling his broken wing. "I can try to help." she whispered, making a band of light wrap around his wing, and then his shoulder, like a sort of sling.
Em swallowed slowly, trying to dry her eyes. "I... I... don't know what's wrong with me..." She mumbled, starting to tremble. She wouldn't cool down, couldn't cool down. Her spirit was just so strong, and in a demon, that meant her core was very warm. She had no idea how to control it yet...

Zach sighed letting her and smiled weakly "I'm an idiot...but thank you firefly..."
James held her close consuming the heat to cool her down "you need to stay calm..." he whispered and rubbed her arms "the more agitated you are the more control you lose over your central heat..."

Taylor finished tucking it into her little light sling and then squeezed his hand gently, smiling. "It was my fault. So I'm going to take care of you." She said seriously. "Can you walk to a bed? Or am I going to have to try and carry you?" She asked seriously.
Emily sighed in relief when she felt the simmering fire in her start to cool. She hugged James, crying quietly. "It's so hard... I'm getting frustrated at everything!" She said, closing her eyes and shaking her head.

Zach got up with her help "I can walk..." he assured and slowly walked to her room and sat on the bed. "Though it would be funny to see you try to carry me!"
James sighed "probably side effects...let's go down to Hell and talk to my father's friend Lukas. He knows almost everything about being a demon!"

Taylor laughed softly. "I would. To help you. If you needed it." She promised, smiling a little. She guided him into the bed and tucked him in carefully. "You want anything?" She asked, making sure his wing was comfortable.
Emily looked up, her eyes widening a little. "Hell?" She repeated. "Like... Heaven and hell? Does it really exist?" She asked, a little surprised, but at this point, she was realizing there was so much she didn't know about the world.

Zach shook his head "I'm good thanks...just worried about my mom..." he said softly his grey eyes almost stormy.
James chuckled and nodded "nothing like what you've been told though. Demons aren't all evil, and they don't punish humans or whatever."

Taylor nodded, climbing onto the bed and crawling up beside him. "I'm sure she'll be ok. I haven't ever seen someone give birth. Mom wasn't around when Ash was born, but I'm sure it will go ok."
Emily relaxed a little. "Well that makes me feel better." She admitted. "Alright. It might be cool to visit." She admitted, shrugging.

Zach nodded "mom almost died giving birth to me..." he said quietly "dad always worries about it..."
James smiled and took her hand flying straight to the ground but of course going through the vortex to the black gates.

Taylor bit her lip. "I'm sorry about that." She whispered honestly, sighing. "I hope everything is ok."
Emily gripped his hand as they plunged towards the floor, and then through it. She gasped in shock and awe, looking wide eyed all around her at the fiery depths of hell. "So this is what it looks like..." She said, peering up at the black gates.

Zach bit his lip worriedly "my sister had a baby...a girl I think..."
James walked her through them and down the black marble hall to Lucas' mansion.

Taylor smiled a little. "Does that mean you're an uncle?" She asked, giggling. "You're so old!"
Emily couldn't help but stare at everything. It was all on bigger scale than earth, to accomodate a demon's other form. And it was all shiny and black.

Zach stuck out his tongue "nuh uh! I'm only 8!"
James smiled watching her face, he used the iron knocker on the door "Lukas!"

Taylor smirked. "Still older than me. I'm seven and a half." she said, giggling.
Lukas opened the door and smiled at him. "Hi James. What a suprise. Come for a visit?"

Zach grinned and nodded "almost your birthday though!"
James motioned to Emily "that and advice, this is Emily...I turned her."

Taylor smiled, nodding. "I know! I can't wait!" Then she grimaced. "But then we'll be the same age!"
Lukas smiled brightly and held out a hand which Emily shook. "Nice to meet you Emily." Emily nodded and smiled "And you as well."
Lukas turned back to James. "What sort of advice do you need?"

Zach shook his head "I'll be 8 and a half!" He argued and grinned "still older!"
James sat on the ever familier couch "anger and heat control...or lack thereof."

Taylor smiled brightly. "Well then. That's ok then." She agreed, leaning back beside him again.
Lukas raised an eyebrow. "Emily I presume?"
Emily nodded. "Started this morning." She said honestly.
"And when were you turned?"
"Last night."
Lukas nodded. "Common problem. Human's aren't used to controlling the inferno, so it's easily to get angered. I'm afraid there's no potion for that my dear, you just need to learn to ignore what annoys you."
And that extremely annoyed Emily, and she huffed. "How am I supposed to do that? I've already tried!"

Zach sighed and looked at his arm "I feel like a loser Tay...a big one!"
James ducked for cover the room sizzling with heat "Em..."

"Right here." Came a voice from the door as Anne rushed in. "How are you Mae darling? how are you feeling?" She asked, getting right down to checking how far along she was.
Taylor frowned a little and looked over at him. "And why ever would you feel that?" She asked, worried about him.
Emily paled a little and calmed, groaning. "I'm so sorry!" She said, rubbing her temples. "I promise... I don't mean to do this."

Zach sighed "cause I ran into a wall...now I can't fly and I'm just making everybody worried...so I'm a loser."
James took her hand and held it tight "I know honey..."

Torch clutched her hand, watching her worried as always, hating that he couldn't just heal her from this pain.
Taylor hugged him gently. "You are not a loser. If anyone is it's me. I'm the reason you got hurt." She said honestly, biting her lip in shame.
Emily hugged him, shaking her head. "I can't do this..." She mumbled.
"Yes you can." Lukas but in. "It will just take some practice. I think James will be able to help you with that honey. We're all here for you. We know what its like."

Zach shook his head "heck no! I'm just a klutz! It has nothing to do with you firefly...I pinky swear!"
James nodded in agreement "I nearly burnt down the house because of my temper..."

Anne kept checking Mae's progression, nodding as she did. "Get ready to push soon dear." She said.
Taylor shook her head. "You're not a klutz! But I do think the glasses might help you see where you are going better..." She said, slipping them out of her pocket and handing them to him.
Emily smiled a little, looking over at him. It lightened her heart to know that she wasn't a lost cause. "Really?" She asked.

Zach sighed and put them on nodding "yeah..." He blinked at her shirt "you have blood on you..."
James chuckled and nodded "I was mad because I thought I was a freak...we had to move shortly after."

"Almost over." Anne promised. "Push when you're ready darling."
Taylor looked down at herself and shrugged. "I never liked this shirt much anyway." She said, smiling a little.
Emily bit her lip. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry." She said, squeezing his hand gently.

Zach frowned "I like that shirt!" He protested and frowned crossing his arms.
James shook his head "I'm fine, just telling you so you know that you aren't alone in this..."

Anne frowned, checking again. "She's passed out. And it doesn't seem like the baby's moving any further..."
Taylor smiled a little. "If you like it so much, maybe you should wear it!" She suggested, teasing.
Emily nodded, kissing his cheek. "Thank you. I shall try my hardest not to get so annoyed..."

Zach stuck out his tongue "it wouldn't fit me! I'd rip it with my muscles!"
James nodded and smiled over at Lukas "how's Anne?"

Anne shook her head, frowning in concentration. "No. But she needs a c-section to get the child out. And fast."
Taylor laughed. "What muscles?" she teased, poking his arm. "I think I'd win a wrestling match... or even a game of mercy." she teased.
Lukas smiled. "Well. She's coming along nicely."
Emily looked over. "Coming along?" She asked.
Lukas laughed lightheartedly. "Has she not told any of you?" He shook his head. "Anne is one month pregnant."
Zach nodded in agreement "for sure! My best friend and cake!" He said as if it was the greatest thing in the world, which it was.
Mark sighed and didn't argue curling up in the bed and pulling the blankets up to his shoulders "I wanted to give you a rest..."
Damon played with her hair lightly "what exactly happened?..."
