D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments Oh wow. Small achievement but I did it. After completely failing to comprehend the setup for IngramSpark last week, I have submitted two titles. They are awaiting review or whatever they do with them. I honestly didn't think I'd get them on there before the free setup code ran out at the end of the month. Last week, it was like I'd lost the ability to read and understand words on the screen. Made it.

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments Thanks everyone. #UtterlyClueless here has just hit the go button on Ingram for Missing Remnants and The Illusion. Either I'm creating bonfire fodder or there will be paperbacks. I really hope I've done it right. It looked OK. Who knows.

How long does it take to get from Ingram to Amazon?

message 3662: by Dale (last edited Mar 20, 2019 09:51AM) (new)

Dale Lehman (dalelehman) | 1814 comments D.J. wrote: "How long does it take to get from Ingram to Amazon? "

As I recall, it only took a day or two. Some outlets take a little longer. Within half a week to a week, you'll see your book appearing on B&N, Books-a-Million, Kobo, and various other sites.

Updates to existing books can take longer. Ingram sends ebook updates once a week on Sundays and print book updates once a month on the first of the month. (Although, that might only be for price updates. I'm a bit confused on that point.)

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments Thanks Dale. I’ve just checked and it’s turned up ok. It does say temporarily out of stock on Amazon is that normal?

I read somewhere on Ingram's site that that's normal, but that the book can still be ordered through them. I don't remember if my books show that way or not.

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments Thanks. I’ll keep checking. Apparently, it fully updates after a bit of time.

Becky Benishek (becky_benishek) | 166 comments Hello! I've been not-here for far too long, and I see I have to catch up on all sorts of news and things happening to you lovely people. :)

I've been focusing my energy inward for awhile (surgery--all good!), building back my strength, _allowing_ myself the time to build back strength...now I feel I've been coming out of it. I just decided, tonight, to submit "The Squeezor is Coming!" to the Readers' Favorite International Book Awards. I believe in it and that won't change no matter the outcome. #confidence

I hope whenever your eye comes across this post, you are or will be having an excellent day.

Carmel Hanes Hi all....I wanted to share some exciting news. Months ago I sent letters to a couple of universities about my book. I had one professor interested in reading it, so I sent her a copy. She liked it and is using it in the upcoming term in one of her classes! She likes to use a variety of methods to discuss the topics and felt my book would make for a good discussion project. The class is a combination of psychology and criminology. I'm so stoked to see the uptick in sales as the students buy the book for the new term! This is a dream come true for me, and what I hoped for when I wrote it. Happy dance!

Becky Benishek (becky_benishek) | 166 comments Thank you for the well-wishes!

Wow, Carmel, that's wonderful. I'm so happy for you!

I hope Mr. Outlander actor does indeed tweet your books out, Alex. He should!

So while taking it easy, on Sunday I came across an open call for submissions to a sci-fi anthology: Black Hare Press: "Worlds" - a Dark Drabbles Anthology.

Exactly 100 words!
https://www.blackharepress.com/worlds...

I sent in my story, and just got an acceptance. Totally made my day, seeing that email this morning.

This is unpaid, but acceptance in the anthology qualifies you for their paid publications.

Submit something yourself! Deadline is May 12, but they may close early. There are also other open calls on their website.

I'm with you, Alex. The same guy has followed me too and has made me think again that I should watch Outlander to pay back the favour he's offering to do for me and my books :)

Congratulations! I got my first mystery reviewed and recommended by them. I'm not sure how much it helped my sales, but it's a worthwhile place for indies and small publishers to submit to.
