thank you
Indies Unlimited has released the winners of their Editor's Choice awards for (ahem) May and June of 2018. I received an honorable mention for my story "Barking Mad" which can be read on their site or on Medium.I thought it was a pretty good story, but a bit obvious. I had stories in each of the other weeks, and some of them I liked better. I've never quite fathomed the ways of their staff. ;-)
P.S. I just noticed they previously released the winner list for January, February, and March 2019. I wasn't on that list. I only entered two stories during that period.
I'm proud to announce that Monsterland Reanimated (my son's book) was awarded the Bronze (3rd place) in it's genre for the Feathered Quill Award.
The Knowing from the Bulwar Anthology was given 2nd place -Silver in Romance. YAY!

Thanks, Grady!
Thanks for all you do for the indie community!
My book- The Big Book of Silly jokes is up for Book of the month at the Long and Short Review- can you help it along by voting? Also, it's a great site to send your book for a free review.

More Indies Unlimited Editor's Choice results have been announced, this time for April/May/June 2019. (They're on a roll now!) I received one award for 5/25/2019. That story is here on IU and here on Medium.I'm also pleased to see that a member of my Creative Writing Workshop, Jeremy Cook, won the week before, (5/18/2019) and also got an honorable mention the same week I won.
IU continues to announce Editor's Choice winners. I picked up another one for my story in the 7/6/2019 contest, "Angry Bird," which can be seen here on IU or here on Medium. This is the first and so far only time a story of mine has won both Reader's Choice and Editor's Choice. It's my most outrageous flash fiction story ever, which may explain why!
I got a ton more responsibility at work! I have an interview with the general counsel of my firm in the US and if all goes well, I'll be doing projects on a global level.Bad news: this is horrible horrible horrible HORRIBLE news for my writing dreams. So something good/bad happened.
Thank you both! I am so tired lol. But I keep thinking if Carole can do it; I better take my vitamines and get to work! :)
You guys can do anything.I've seen you all juggle a lot. I'm just lucky- I just have extra help!!
Thanks again, folks, and here's another little victory: I finally got my foot in the door at Medium's premier humor publication, Slackjaw. They aren't as big as Writing Cooperative, but they are in the top 50, with over 100,000 subscribers, and they're fairly picky. I had to do a couple of rewrites before they accepted my piece, but it was worth it. My story should appear in 1 - 2 weeks. I'll post the link when it does.
Alex wrote: "Congrats, Dale, you're doing well with Medium"Thanks! Yep, I'm on a roll. I manage to top $20/month most months. ;-)
Honestly, I'd love to get above $50, and have done so on rare months, but I think the only way to do that consistently is post a story a day, and that's more than I can manage right now.
I got another honorable mention from the IU folks for my flash fiction story on 10/19/2019. There was also good news for two members of my workshop, Pat Mills got her first honorable mention for 9/7/2019 and Jeremy Cook got his second win for 9/21/2019. If interested, the winners' list is here.

Congrats, Carole! Wonderful news! ^^
It brought a smile to my face, and you all warmed my heart. It's nice to know the joke book is being useful for kids stuck in their homes. Perhaps even bringing them some joy. I hope their parents don't grow to resent me!!!

Me too!! Thank you all for your support!!! I love this community.
It's a great validation. I just finished book two. I don't know when the publisher will release it- but I wonder if it will have legs as well!!!

Great news Carole! I'm glad to hear parents are getting their kids books to read during this time at home.
Thanks, everyone. It made it to number 3 today!!! Gives me something to look forward to every morning.
