My good thing that happened today is not actually book or sales related, but it does make me very happy - my internet is finally working again after nearly two weeks without!

Years ago, I was about to publish on Amazon my very first novel, it was all ready to roll but I thought I'd wait until I returned from holiday. Returned, Internet down, stayed down for 11 days. Grrr...
It must have been difficult waiting for two weeks. It makes me wonder what would happen if someone pulled the plug on us all. Now there's a plot for someone (not me!)

Thanks, Carole! Couldn’t have done it without you.
Aww, you make me feel so good. Really Alexis, writing and completing a book is a real reflection of your own determination and stick-with-it-ness. I wish you the best of luck and may a series follow, coupled with huge sales!

:D
Now, I’m in polishing mode. Getting the second draft ready to share with a few people. I am worried they might not GET it though. =/

BookBub took my time travel some time ago and it hasn't looked back (though I have to keep giving it a kick up the backside sometimes). Oh how I wish it had been part of a series. Well done for getting it right, Alex.
I wish my email feed would get it right and send me what I want to see!

I thought I had posted when my promotion with BookBu..."
65000 downloads; I can’t wrap my head around it. Tons of people have read your book now, Alex. That must feel amazing.
Was it hard to get BookBub to accept your submission?
Both Bulwark and The Knowing were finalists in the International Book Awards.
Can a Princess be a Firefighter was also a finalist, as well as my son's Monsterland 1, Monsterland Reanimated, and Stillwell.
While I know they are not 'winners,' I am still proud. They competed against 2000 other entries, many of which were traditionally published
I have often said it validates the writing for both of us when a book receives some sort of recognition.

Carole - congrats to you and Michael for having so many books recognized. Glad to hear some good news today.

Having my boo..."
Wow, Alex, 175k is huge. Glad the Bookbub worked out and pushed that number higher for you.

Just read your news, Alex. I am so proud of you! I can't wait to see where this all goes. 65000 downloads are so impressive.
"I have also sold a combined 900 copies of the other titles in the series, and earned 110+% of the cost of the feature."
This is the stuff of dreams, Alex. You're an indie-role model.

There's so much I still need to learn and figure out about this publishing lark, especially when it comes to the marketing.
I echo that.
Brittney just completed Michael's book trailer. It's here if you want to have a look.

My good news is that my third novel to my series releases this Friday. Afflicted to the Core! I'm not fast like some of you writers out there. It's been three years since I published the two novellas and so it's a long time coming. I worked hard and look where I am, a new book!

Shiny!

Also to Nat, three years, but what satisfaction there is for us slow writers when finally a book is born. My last two have taken about 22 months which is the same gestation period as for an elephant. Three years? You might have grown a whale of a tale.
It's all right, there's no need to try laughing.
Interesting development. I was asked by the publisher to post three times a day on Facebook for a joke book I wrote that came out in early September.
The book was consistently in the top 10 of its genre from the day it went live. All of a sudden it jumped into Amazon's top 100 books and they named it as a top pick for Christmas.
I saw a lot of Vine reviews. I have a few Vine reviewers on my mailing list, but not nearly as many as the ones that published reviews. How do you get your book on the Vine list? Does anybody know? I've tried writing Amazon, but I get canned answers.

No idea but congrats! Off to get it!
Edit: Because that should have been CONGRATS! Holy crap! What an amazing accomplishment Carole. I’m going to post about it in Twitter like “My FRRIEEEENDD (mine, mine!) has a top 100 book on AMAZON, people!”

Your book is selling more than Michelle Obama’s!!
