I’m tempted by the possibility of a bricks and mortar being able to order one of my books for the last person on the planet who doesn’t have an Ama..."You might be surprised at how many people don't like shopping on line, period, and will look forward to finding your book without having to do so. I have heard multiple people tell me that, since having a book for sale.
And best of luck to both of you, Alex and DJ...it is nice to see another option opening up, outside the kingdom of Zon.
Oh I know, Carmel. I’ve had one or two people assume because I’ve published books they’ll be able to buy them on the high street. As if. That’ll be the other way of publishing then.
Alex, as grateful as I am to be accepted as part of this group, unfortunately, not being a published author, I have NO information to share and truly feel bad about that... like perhaps I really don't belong here?To make this clear, it was not your comment that made me respond this way. I've been thinking about it for a long time. Plus being sick always makes me extra sad and weepy. Still, I feel I should leave the group because I'm just a writer and don't have publishing experience to offer.
Not trying to upset anyone. Please don't nobody get mad at me. However, if you take a vote and prefer I remain quiet or leave the group, I will do whatever is asked of me.
Thank you all for your kindness and concern. Hugs to All.
Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) wrote: "Alex, as grateful as I am to be accepted as part of this group, unfortunately, not being a published author, I have NO information to share and truly feel bad about that... like perhaps I really do..."But you are published....on medium. And you contribute often in many ways. I understand your feelings, because I share them. My experience is so limited I often don't even know what others are talking about, much less feeling I have some word of advice to offer. If you go, I might sneak out the door behind you. :) Except I find this a very helpful group to take whatever my next steps might be. I think it's just our anxiety talking. We need to tell it to hush.
Alex, Thank you for your lovely response. You have brought me to tears. I don't want to leave the group and enjoy encouraging all of you because I care about you. I feel the same as you about being supported as a person in this group beyond being a writer. I just feel like a charlatan or something because I haven't made it yet. I also know I'm in major manic depressive mode and don't want that to rub off here. I know most of my Medium articles aren't pleasant. Hugs
Sam, part of the purpose of this group is to unite readers and authors. If anything, we want MORE readers and reviewers. And your input is just as important as an authors. You may not be able to contribute to this conversation, but there are plenty of conversations that you can contribute to with the unique view as a reader. We LOVE having you here!
Erica, Thank you for your encouragement and acceptance. It means a lot to me to be part of this group. Thank you. Hugs!

Aw, Alex, you are so sweet. Thank you. I must come onto this thread fifty times a day, just to see the posts and know all my friends here are doing what they love.
Sam, everybody is wanted and welcome here. It's the unconditional thread.

Anyway, you're at least published on Medium . . .
Dale, That is so kind of you to say. Yes, I have learned much from being in this group and truly enjoy being a part of it. I also care for you as though we were friends who see each other in person often. Thank you for your comment. Hugs!
I wish to assure you all I'm not an attention seeker and that my offer to leave the group was not a stunt. I enjoy being where I am comfortable but prefer to blend into the wallpaper if I'm unsure or anxious. Thank you all for your kind words. Hugs.

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) wrote: "Judy, I don't see how, but I appreciate your kind comment. Today is national Author's day- Please tweet it out and maybe direct people to any one of our Goodreads threads, Facebook, magazine or radio shows to celebrate all the great talent we showcase.
This summer I became 2018 Female Author in Poetry. After cancellations after cancellations due to Hurricanes, I finally was able to do my radio interview. The interview was posted today on The Author Show Radio and other platforms. If you would like to listen here is the link. I was so nervous because this was my very first time doing a radio interview and there were still some technical difficulties which resulted in me having to do it on my cellphone instead of a landline.

Thank you so much. The interviewer was great. It wasn't live so he gave me tips before we began and whenever needed. They also sent me the questions I would be asked in advanced. That really helped. Now I just hope it helps getting more readers. :)

I'm so honored to share the news that my first book, "Go West, Young Woman!" has won a national literary award. It is the winner of the 2018 Will Rogers Medallion Award Bronze Medal. This is truly a highlight in my life.
