Being able to speak to neighbours from a distance is what is keeping me sane!

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4845 comments I'm glad I can get out of the apartment - but we're all staying well separated when we do.

It's good to see other humans also trying to be sensible.

Glad you folks enjoyed it. I’ve been mulling that one over for a long time but it’s taken ages to get to the point where I could articulate it.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4845 comments Amazon keeps eating others' lunch - by doing what seems obvious, making it easy for people to buy and sell on their platform.

It may not be the best company in the world, but it gets a lot of things right.

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments They are horrible to their suppliers though. I've had several nastygrams from them over the years - change this within 24 hours or your account will be terminated. That kind of thing. Usually stuff they've altered on page seventy three of their terms and conditions which I've missed.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12614 comments Found this weeks quite interesting, thinking it might explain my lack of energy on a Sat morning, I'm still dealing with the heightened stuff from work and pain levels.

Yeh, I had no idea that chronic pain could give you brain fog. Basically, it appears that I’m going through a perfect storm of things that give you brain fog! I hope it mad you feel a bit less wired about it all. Definitely a scales from the eyes moment for me. :-)

Cheers

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12614 comments I was vaguely aware of chronic pain causing brain fog, and think it is part of the reason I wake up feeling drained and headachy regardless of whether I have slept through or not. But yes, your blog post did make me feel better about the situation, I remember shortly after being furloughed my neighbour commenting that maybe I don’t have cognitive fatigue as I was doing less and still struggling to think of words etc, but the Covid situation was probably to blame. Good job I have Lucy to make me sit down longer than I intend to at times though.

Also cats are so cathartic, there's nothing like a purring furry nutter sitting on your lap to make you feel better. :-)

I'm so glad it helped, I suffer from arthritis too so I totally sympathise.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12614 comments As long as they are being nice and cuddly and you aren't cleaning bodily fluids off the carpet etc!!

message 1038: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Mmm very true. Have just had to do that ... not the carpet but vomit off the floor. Ugh. :-(

On the upside, possibly, I’ve done a blog post.

Jim | 21813 comments Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "I had a lot of conversations with people on Sat that made me feel a lot better."

I think far too many of us have been denied something as simple as conversation. I've noticed a lot of people seem happy to chat because I suspect they've not had much chance

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4845 comments Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "I had a lot of conversations with people on Sat that made me feel a lot better."

Good to hear!

There was almost TOO much social life here when we moved in, two years ago in a month - and now there's so little it's pitiful.

So many fascinating people - and they're all hunkered down in their bunkers because we're ALL over 65, and most of us have a couple of other things of concern. This is the kind of place where we thrive under normal circumstances, and people live a long life despite problems.

Hope a vaccine doesn't forget us.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4845 comments Finally got around to updating a better picture.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12614 comments That’s interesting Jim, I thought it was because I had more time that I was happy to engage in conversation more, but maybe it was partly missing it! Sorry you have gone from too much to too little Alicia, I do hope you can strike a balance over there.
