I recall you talking about being frustrated by the adverts on youtube.

Have you ever managed to get that sorted?

I think that if I pay they don’t appear. Also I think that if I have a channel and pay for that, people don’t see them on my stuff. At the moment I’m looking at anchor for doing blog posts read aloud. I have audiobook samples I can share too!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I sorted adverts by only using youtube on my laptop.

I use chrome browser and added a free adblock extension.

You can do the same on a tablet. Just use chrome as your browser and access youtube through the browser.

Feel free to call me through facebook messenger if you need help to sort it. I'm happy to talk you through it.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12615 comments I did enjoy it and did disturb Lucy by laughing out loud at the toilet comments, but yes, it can be quite challenging!

Yeh... back pain is a relatively new thing for me. It's the knee pain that's the biggie usually.

Cheers

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12615 comments I can sympathise how hard both are

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Bless you Desley, yeh, I know you are a fellow arthritis sufferer. Ugh it’s annoying isn’t it? On the other hand, I feel less bad about sitting about on my arse some days!

Cheers

MTM

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12615 comments Wish I wasn’t part of the club MT! When my knee was really bad, I actually did google walking sticks to help get up from certain places!! Please can you tell me how to stop feeling bad about sitting around, I haven’t got there yet, and I don’t have as many people counting on me as you do! Lucy does try her best to help, but the irony is that sometimes I have to move her as the extra weight is painful – if only I could teach her lying next to me rather than on me means she’d get longer!

That sounds grim, and a little sad for both of you with respect to Lucy. There are a lot of people like us on the internet because it’s how we get social on the bad days, I think.

Cheers

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12615 comments Yes, it was at times – and my latest MRI showed I have the same back issue as my neighbour, who is currently waiting for surgery, so I kind of know what it might progress to, which I often wish I didn’t. It is, poor thing cant understand why I don’t always want her to sit on me (I have heard of cats gravitating towards illness/injury and wonder if that is why she favours lying with her head on my bad knee rather than my good one!). Yes, I completely agree that the internet is great for people with certain conditions, dread to think what life would be without it.

message 1073: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4846 comments Maybe it is something she does to provide heat for your knee? But if her head is too heavy it doesn't help? Animals sense certain things.

Agree with Alicia, I’m sure that animals sense when you’re ill. Both the family cats my parents had would come and sit with me whenever I was ill as a kid and Chewie, our old cat, was sweet with McMini, definitely knew exactly what was going on when I was pregnant.

Sorry to hear you’ll have to have an op Desley. I’ve started the process with my knee. Going private through McOther’s work scheme if I can.

Cheers

MTM

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12615 comments I don't know if it is that sense that cats have, or just that she is a lap cat, but as she likes to stretch, she only likes to lie on me when I'm lying down!

Yeh, I haven't walked them the way they are now with people on them. I've never seen a lot of those buildings surrounded by crowds. Last time was 2018 and they were still building the shard, the shiny building on thredneedle street and a lot of others.
