Book: All Shook Up - Susan Andersen
Read: 03.17
Rating: ★★★★
Possible Cards:
0 - standalone
2 - T - character Tate Lawrence
6 - S - author Susan Andersen
Skip - K - character Keven Bronsen
Draw 2 - Same book for 2 cards
GR is unclear about whether this is standalone or not. Author's website doesn't list it as part of a series. The GR title field indicates it is but there is no actual series link on the book page or a series page in GR. I think at one point there were 4 books linked only by title but has since been removed since the author doesn't have them as a series on her website.

When did you start this one, can we use it for the mini-challenge?
I started Grey yesterday, should finish it today. It will work for 3 part of mini challenge. Name: Christian like Christian Ozera in Vampire Academy.
I started a reread of Vampire Academy - I was in the mood for some Dimitri :-) I should hopefully be done with it fairly quickly, maaaaybe even tonight. It will work for part 1 of the March mini challenge.

I started it Thursday or Friday. There is a character named Elizabeth. Would that work for the team named Elizabeth Bennet?
It would :)And it fills the last empty spot for parts 1-3 of the mini-challenge.
Next up - scrabble :)

To complete all of the letters for the scrabble challenge we would need to read a total of 48 more books for the month...That doesn't include anything in the first part of the mini challenge. That's a lot more books than I thought.
It is a lot of books for that part and we most likely won't make that, but we can read for at least a few of the words, and we'll get bonus points for each completed word - that way we dont need to finish all. :)

Grey by E.L. James

Rating: ★
Possible Cards:
2 - character Jason Taylor
4 - 4th in the series
6 - character Anastasia Steele
8 - character Elliot Grey
Skip - K - character Kate Kavanagh
Mini-challenge
Task 3 - Name: Christian
It took me longer to read it than I thought. I knew it was bad, but it was even worse. My brain was destroyed.
I know, I'm the same. I just have to know how it ends.... And in the end it's just never worth it. :(
But on the positive side: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. And you have endured the torture of finishing the book!! ;-)
Annika wrote: "It is a lot of books for that part and we most likely won't make that, but we can read for at least a few of the words, and we'll get bonus points for each completed word - that way we dont need to..."I agree we won't get them all read... but we can start with one or two of the seven letter words and go from there. Just let us know which words and then we can all list which letters we can read for... or something like that.
I'm still working on Magic Bites but if you give me say, 2 or 3 letters, I can look on my TBR shelf and let you know what I'll read next.
From the books we have already finished for the March mini (for the Scrabble part, I mean), it looks like we could soon finish up the word "Knapper".So if you want to hunt for a particular letter, these would be the ones to look for, as we're still missing them for the above word:
A
P
R
We also have a few books already that can go towards the word "Synonym".What we still need for it are the following letters:
N
Y
M
I started You some time this week (2 chapters only so far) but I can step it up a little after I have my current reads finished and we can easily use that for the Y we still need. And I'm just now realising that the month is nearing its end... Ok, ok, almost 2 weeks left, but still ;-)
Keep an eye on the date, people! Especially those who have books on the spreadsheet that they want to read this month but haven't gotten to yet, thanks!
To be honest, it's OK. I like the vampires and shapeshifters but feel it's tailored more towards the ladies. I do like Kate's 'don't give a monkey's' attitude though. It reminds me a bit of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Yeah that's the thing with Urban Fantasy these days - it's more female-oriented, which is why I'm usually reluctant to recommend these kinds of series to guys.If you want a really good Urban Fantasy series though that is also male-oriented, go for Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series. It is amazing.
Chris wrote: "I might give that a try, E."I definitely second the Dresden recommendation! That series is epic! :)
LaurLa wrote: "I am reading an O book right now. It's a drag but I'm pushing my way through..."Eurgh, such a shame when that happens. :-/

Well, I have a list of books I need to read for various challenges... I just hope they are better than the one I finished last night.
Annika wrote: "Should we be afraid to ask? ;)"Lol no. It's just what happens when LaurLa says she barely survived reading the book and I'm thinking "I will surviiiiive" and then Chandler pops into my head ;-)
Oh, and, I finished Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side.I'm going to pick up either

Just wanted to let you know I do plan on still reading for the Yellow 9 before the end of the month. Looks like we're pretty close to getting all the cards done. How do you want us to post our books for the Scrabble part - just the letters that would apply rather than cards? What words should we focus on next?
Christine wrote: "Do nonfiction books count? I finished All is Grace by Brennan Manning."Absolutely they count :)

We are, The only ones left to fill are the wild and wild draw 4 and they are the easiest ones :)
I'd say post all the letters that the books will count for, but don't focus so much on the cards.
We basically have Knapper done - we only need an R but we'll most likely assign this at the end of the month as it is an easy letter to fill.
For berserk we have the 2 E's and the K done
For Synonym we are missing the second Y.
So basically read what you like, but it would be good if it fits a few different letters so that we can switch around if needed :)
