Damaged

All By Myself, Alone

Havent read much in last 2 weeks i havent been feeling good and i been super busy to, Hopeful i can get more then 3 books read in the next 2 weeks

gripping and exciting as usual from Chris Carter! Also I didn't expect the twist at the end and why the killer did what he did (could definitely feel with the reasons).
Total recommendation!!

I felt quite enthusiastic about the last 1/4 particularly:

Onward to Ruth Rendell, at others' suggestions!

Which Rendell? My personal favorites are A Dark-Adapted Eye (under the name Barbara Vine), A Judgement in Stone, and Adam and Eve and Pinch Me. I would read any of those before a Wexford series novel.

Hope you're feeling better, Shannon!

I am still reading The Craig Kennedy Scientific Detective Megapack (R): 25 Classic Tales of Detection by Arthur B. Reeve and am about to start Peril at End House by Agatha Christie.

Here is my review.

I've finished HARM DONE and am halfway through. . . (I can't remember).

David, a new husband (and soon-to-be father) sees his wife Tara canoodling with another man. David confronts the lothario and a deadly accident ensues. But someone calls it murder! And wants money to shut up! Pretty good psychological thriller. 3 stars.

I've got a couple of his books and am looking forward to trying them.

And started

I am starting to read Murder at Hazelmoor by Agatha Christie.

An epidemic called Dragonscale is causing victims to spontaneously combust and incinerate to death. Harper Grayson is a pregnant woman who's contracted the illness. Determined to give birth, she joins a secret community of victims who seem able to survive the infection. Plot involves a classic battle between good and bad people. Good horror/thriller. 4 stars.

A Book of the Dead
Very rare. The first half was fun, charming, good mystery. The second half is dominated by an egotistical bore named Mott. Ruins the book, basically :(

I've just finished the final part of the Joe Coughlin trilogy - and I didn't realise I'd started at the end! No matter; it really worked for me. Especially after 'Since We Fell', which I truly disliked - it was great to give another Lehane novel a whirl (was touch and go for a while!) and have it come up trumps.
If people have enjoyed Gone Baby Gone, then I'd say definitely try the Coughlin trilogy, too.

Loved Frank who saves people with music - vinyl only! - in The Music Shop by Rachel Joyce, who is well-known for another favourite of mine and others, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I'm happy to say Frank and his friends are equally wonderful characters.

If you're interested in Harold Fry, I gave him 5★

This is the 13th book in the 'Paul Madriani legal thriller' series.
An investigative journalist for an online news site is framed for manslaughter and Paul Madriani takes the case. This leads Paul and his cohorts to unveil a conspiracy involving huge bucks. The story's a bit overloaded and convoluted - and more spy story than legal novel. Can be read as a standalone. 3 stars

I am about to start reading Easy to Kill by Agatha Christie.

One of my favorites, because of the setting:

In this last book in the 'Southern Sisters' cozy mystery series Patricia Anne and Mary Alice investigate the death of an Elvis impersonator. Most of the book's fun is with the gals' everyday lives though. Amusing story. 3.5 stars

I am starting to read And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.

Kay Powell, a talent agent for animal acts, gets her dog client Bruno a gig as Sandy in 'Annie.' Next thing Kay knows Bruno's obnoxious owner is stabbed to death. Kay and her showbiz parents help investigate. A unique, fun cozy mystery. 4 stars.

Just starting Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger. This will be my first read from this author. Also my next Louise Penny, A Great Reckoning. Lots to read before the end of October including A Night in Lonesome October, The Library at Char and Count of Monte Cristo.
Whew! I am really challenging myself.
