I finished Abandon by Blake Crouch.

In 1893 everyone disappeared from the gold-mining mountain town of Abandon, Colorado. In 2009, a small expedition sets out to discover what happened all those years ago. This is essentially a dual adventure story with lots of blood and gore. Good book (just not my favorite genre). 3 stars for me.

well am reading or will hopefully try and read and acquire all the Hercule Poirot mysteries and so far this year am reading Evil Under the Sun by Agatha Christie and have read Peril at End House which was fantastic so this year am starting out in crime :P

Currently reading The Closers, by Michael Connelly. It's part of his Harry Bosch series. Filled with forensic and procedural details... really enjoying it so far! If you like mysteries with a lot of real-world crime solving techniques, I highly recommend it.

Night Film by Marisha Pessl I been meaning to read this sooner but i finally found it but i found at dollar tree last friday i couldnt believe it how much i pay a 1.00 for it. I really liked it alot going check out some more from her.

Now I am reading The Kept Woman by Karin Slaughter I won it in November as a giveaway on goodreads it finally come in on Jan 3. Cant wait to get it read

I finished Peach Pies and Alibis by Ellery Adams.

In this second book in the fantasy/mystery series Ella Mae LeFaye finally gets her magical powers. She also has to expose a murderer who's trying to sabotage a vital magical ritual. I don't love fantasies so it was 3 stars for me. However, I think fans of the genre would love this book.

He sure can write! This is one of his latest, I think, The Jealous Kind, which paints quite a picture of 1952 Houston teens and crims.

Finished 1/101 2017 The Killer Next Door by Alex Marwood

Wow! I did NOT see that coming! Not in a million years! Great book! Imogene Church narrated this book above and beyond, again, as is her trademark. You really get to know the individual characters in the book whenever Imogene is telling any story. She can make you FEEL the emotions surrounding the characters, the intensity, the drama! Yes! Read it!

Someone asked a question about rating this book, 1 being a book you could read to your children, 10 will give you nightmares. I would rate it about an 6. But, it completely depends on the person reading it. If your at all squeamish, I don't recommend it. It has mummification, people dying in various gruesome ways, including sewage. However, I wouldn't classify it as a horror level, either, not to the point of nightmares. Stephen King's Pet Sematary and It, give me nightmares. But, again, that's me.

Having said that, the story line is fantastic, fast paced, full of suspense, and unlike any other book I've read before. Which brings me back to the ending. Wow! I never expected the end! Never. And, I've read many, many mystery, suspense, and thrillers over a wide spread of genres. I recommend it highly! Alex Marwood will be an author I'll definitely read again! I would also highly recommend the audio book version, narrated by Imogene Church. I think I got more bang for my buck hearing it instead of reading it. Either way it's a great book!

I just read Terrified by Kevin O' Brian. It was pretty good, I couldn't put it down. This was about a woman who faked her death to get away from her husband, so she runs away pregnant to Seattle. unbeknownst to her, she's followed. When her son is kidnapped, she knows that something is extremely wrong. While the criminal may seem obvious, the author does throw plot twists in there to make you doubt your assumption.
I've also read reviews of his other books, and if this one was good then the other ones are better!

Great to have a collection of autobiographies and biographies for Christmas, brought by Santa !

I now have a collection of great books, not the massive stars the legends but some where there are few books or information written about them.

Here is a prime example, Rod Taylor.

The book is very well written, each chapter to different areas and years in his career, the highlights and the not so good years.

Very interesting details, the problem with drink through most of his life, his aggressive personality, often known for his brawling and drinking more than his acting, gaining a bad reputation.

The author has done an enormous amount of research and interviewed many actor and actress's, who give very different opinions on his work and his character.

Rod Taylor had times where stardom really took over his personality, having two bodyguards all the time, driving in a Rolls Royce and really becoming to big for his boots.

Making some great films but then saying yes to some awful films, especially in the late 60's and early 70's.

Amazing how through his career he often announced many films he was going to make, but they never seem to happen.

His life and personality changed so much with his third wife, and he seemed to calm down and enjoy his later years in semi-retirement.

A very entertaining book

Just finished Lady Bette and the Murder of Mr Thynn, was interesting although had zero suspense - does anyone else enjoy historical crimes and mysteries?

I finished Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris.

Grace and Jack Angel seem to be the perfect couple, but things are bleak behind the scenes. Lots of people loved this psychological thriller but (for me) it's too slow-moving and the premise is not believable. 3 stars.

Just finished Good as Gone about a mother whose child is kidnapped and 8 years later turns up on her doorsteps but then she begins to doubt if it's really her. It's poorly written and executed. 2 Stars

Another kidnapping storyline but this time a baby in The Couple Next Door. It's probably equally unbelievable but the author was better at building the suspense and the result was a more entertaining novel. 4 Stars

Also read the 6th book in the Scandinavian Department Q series, The Hanging Girl. Overly long but interesting enough if you like the series. 3 Stars.
