Just finished another book in The Court of Thorns and Roses series - A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas. I have mixed feelings about this latest book in the series - overall, I really enjoyed it, particularly the last half of the book. In the first part of the book, I expected Feyre's time in the Spring court to be longer. And then the book just seemed to stall for awhile, almost like the author didn't want to move along the story, like her characters didn't want to move along into the next confrontation. It was mildly frustrating because it didn't seem like there was much character development from the last book, until the very end of the novel. Overall, I'm still intrigued by the series, but this book was not as good as the second novel. Worth reading! 4 stars

Just read another book in the Belle Meade Plantation series - To Win Her Favor by Tamera Alexander. Alexander's books always tend to start off rather slow and deliberate, but then they eventually pick up. While the writing is a bit simplistic, it's still enjoyable to read. Book is better than the audiobook. Worth reading. 3.5 stars

I have finished two more for my challenge. First A Fine Boy for Killing which is book 1 of the Sea Officer William Bentley series by Jan Needle and is the seventh of the 16 new series I said I would start this year. Also, Midnight in Europe which is book 13 of 14 in Alan Furst's Night Soldiers series, which is one of the 9 series I said I would finish.

Just started another series - Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige. Entertaining book that's not incredibly complex. Nice beach read with nice touch of snark. I liked the reimagining of Oz. However, the writing is not the best; I'm hoping it develops a bit more as the series progresses. Worth reading. 3.5 stars
