Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #40 (book bought on trip) - Cane River by Lalita Tademy. I appreciate that the author used her only family history as the outline for this tale of four generations of strong women. However, the writing was repetitive and a little simplistic. I liked the images and historical documents sprinkled throughout but some of them were difficult to read. Worth reading. 3.5 stars

Reviewing my challenge list I realized I already had a fit for the last prompt I was doing, so I am now complete with this challenge for the year:

50. A book that's been mentioned in another book - The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, mentioned in The Last Paradise ★★★★

The two prompts I chose to skip this year were a book being made into a movie and a book greater than 800 pages, not because I didn't like the prompts but because I'm running out of reading time for the year and I just don't see myself getting to them.
