Ana, I just saw this message from you. It only took me eight years or so to respond!!!!! :) I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed Beneath a Marble Sky. Thank you for reading it! I hope all is well in your world. My very best wishes to you. - John

I was searching for a place to ask an author question and this seems as good as any: This project is a huge departure from your previous historical fict..."
Well, basically, my wife and I have two teenage kids, and I thought it would be fun to write something for them. So, I spent six years working on The Demon Seekers trilogy. It was a huge project for me, and I'm really glad with how it turned out. And yes, it was great not to have to do research, but to just sit down and write. Everything evolved quite organically, which was fun. Hopefully the series will do well. So far, so good!!! :)

I was searching for a place to ask an author question and this seems as good as any: This project is a huge departure from your previous historical fiction novels. What inspired you to write a futuristic, fantasy trilogy? I imagine the research process was quite different, too! How did you go about it?

Lucky me, I actually won the Goodreads Giveaway and scored a copy of The Demon Seekers: Book One! And with a praising blurb from Amy Tan, no less. It arrived today and I can't wait to dive in. Thank you!

Stephanie, I seem to be having some trouble with my Goodreads account. Anyway, you're welcome! I hope all is well with you. Best wishes, John

Stephanie, I'm not sure what you're thanking me for, but you're welcome! :) Best wishes, John

Karen, I just saw this message from you. I'm so sorry that I missed it! Anyway, I'm delighted to see that you enjoyed Unbound so much. Thank you for reading it!!! I'm truly grateful for your support! I hope all is well with you. Best wishes, John

Thanks, Ananda! Yes, I would love some of those offers! :) Have a wonderful weekend. - John

Looking forward to read more of your books :)"
Melisa, I just saw this message. Sorry! Anyway, it's nice to meet you on Goodreds. Cheers. - John

Ananda, it's my pleasure to friend you here. I think that Cross Currents will end up being available in many languages, but that takes time, probably a few years. I wish that things went faster in this area! If the book does well in the U.S., then foreign publishers will start to make offers for it. But again, this takes time. Thanks for asking! :) - John

Thanks for your nice message about the award. I appreciate your kind words!
Have a wonderful week! - John

'Rooftops' is a novel set in Iran during the '70s. At the core it's the story of a young man who falls in love with a woman who is involved with anti-government forces. I enjoyed the tale, as I like stories set overseas. Plus, I know the author well and he is a good guy... I see that you review quite a few books on this site. If you'd like to read either of my novels, please let me know and I'll send you a copy. Have a great weekend. - John

What is the basic plotline of Rooftops of Tehran? What about the book makes you give it 5 stars?
Thanks for the "heads-up" on this to-be-published work.
Tessa

Thanks for the friendship. Always good to meet another writer on Goodreads.
ROGER"
Roger,

All the best to you!

Thank you for thinking of me. As you know, I loved BAMs and am truly looking forward to starting your second book, which I have purchased. I'm not sure how this site works, but a site based on reading and books sounds like my kind of thing. Hope you and your family are doing well! Congratulations on completing your second novel!! Marie

You have to know that ANY time I'm asked what my favorite book of all time is.... YOURS is the one I pick! Beneath A Marble Sky was truly the best thing I've EVER read and you KNOW I've read many!!!!!!
Can't wait to read your newest!!!!!!!
