Update - 50/4052. A book based on mythology
When They Severed Earth from Sky: How the Human Mind Shapes Myth by Elizabeth Wayland Barber (5 stars)
Just completed #10 (cat on cover) - The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan. This would have gotten a higher rating from me but for the haikus at the beginning of each chapter. I get it, it's about the god of poetry, but it's annoying. Other than that, the book is entertaining, and I'm glad someone else is as horrified of Indiana as I am;) Worth reading. 3.5 stars

Just completed #25 (book loved as child) - The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I read this book originally in high school (and I'm so glad that it was required reading - go school district!), and I remembered some details. Over the summer, I finished the first season of the series, and after finishing that and reading this a second time, I have a greater appreciation for Atwood's genius. I am someone who does not like uncertainty or questions unanswered. It's not Atwood's style to provide all the answers and clear all ambiguity, and I don't mind it from her in this book because it's that good. What is left unsaid is just as important as what is explicitly stated. I'm so glad she adapted the book into the screenplay and updated it for our times. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars
