I'm always grumbling that I don't get time to read the next book in my favourite series, so in 2017 I'm going to challenge myself to read at least two books per month from series I love. If they can be incorporated into other challenges, even better.

I'll add to these as I think of them but series may include:

Jim Butcher's Dresden Files
Ilona Andrews Magic series
Adrian McKinty's Sean Duffy series
C.S. Harris's Sebastian St Cyr series
P.F. Chisholm's Sir Robert Carey series
Terry Pratchett's Discworld series (re-reading since 2015)
J.D. Robb's Eve Dallas series
Ben Aaronovitch's Peter Grant series
Jacqueline Winspear's Masie Dobbs series
Karin Slaughter's Will Trent series
Jo Nesbø's Harry Hole series
Malla Nunn's Emmanuel Cooper series
Alan Bradley's Flavia de Luce series
Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli & Isles series
Louise Penny's inspector Gamache series

Phrynne, you know me too well! I'm going to restrict this to series I've already started (and have books already bought and waiting), but you are right there will be more new series coming along faster than I can read the existing ones :)

I know what this is like! I decided to make a list of all of the series I have started and realised I have 20! Not intentionally, I just don't like to read a series all at once. A) I don't want it to end too soon. B) I get a bit bored. This is the consequence! Lol. Good luck with your challenge.

Good idea! I've found myself reading the first of series in the challenges, and then not managing to incorporate the next books in the next challenges, so I have many series partially read as well!

But sometimes you read the first in a series, then decide you're not really "fussed" so the rest of it sits there!

Definitely Deborah! I originally read Terry Pratchett out of order as I picked them up 2nd hand and missed a few so 2y ago I started at the beginning and am really enjoying re-reading some. There's so much you miss the first time :)

I think I'll have to cap it at 14 of my favourite series or I won't get many read!

Good luck with this, Carolyn! Series can be a bit insidious, can't they?! It's much easier to start a series than finish one off! I am aiming to finish several off this year as well...perhaps!

Yours is a serious series challenge Marianne!
For me, it's really just an excuse to fit in books I enjoy into challenges as I found I wasn't getting round to reading them last year.

I'm calling this challenge done at 32 books!
Got a few books read in some series :) and not so many in others :(

Will try to carry this through into 2018 and work some of these into the various challenges!
