Jared came into the common room, feeling tired after the long ride. He had gone to visit his cousin and just returned. Rather than going to his dorms, he decided to take some rest first. Sitting down in the couch, he took deep breaths and drank a bottle of water. It had been a fun day but only one thing stuck to his mind. Mara.

Mara was walking through the common room on her way to the food court and had her arms crossed protectively across her chest. She was thinking still about how she had basically put her walls up too high and hadn't even given Jared a chance to explain why he didn't explain. She felt bad...but she also felt hurt and wasn't sure if she could approach him. Didn't look like she got a choice though, because there he was, sitting there. She froze, wondering if she could make it past without him seeing her.

[Ahana~]

Jared looked around and suddenly saw a familiar face. His heart started to beat fast and he looked at her with dreamy eyes. It was Mara. But then he remembered what had happened before and he quickly looked away. No! He couldn't talk with her! He knew it would offend her more than she already was. Looking down, he played with the sleeves of his shirt, feeling a bit nervous.

Mara looked away from him, not moving from her spot. She didn't know what to do...and then she realized what she had to do, which was apologize. She went over and stiffly sat next to him, but didn't say anything yet.

Jared didn't expect that Mara would sit by his side. With a sigh, he moved away from her and moved to sit on the other couch. He knew she didn't like being with him. What happened now? Maybe it was better to avoid her.

Mara closed her eyes and sighed. Out with it already she thought to herself. "I'm sorry," she said out of the blue. "I overreacted. And I.....I want to give you a chance to explain."

Jared turned when Mara apologised. Now that was not what he had been expecting from her. He raised an eyebrow when she said that he would give her a chance to explain. "What do you want me to explain?"he asked with a frown

"To explain why the hell you didn't tell me you were that wolf," Mara replied, trying to hold back her frustrated embarrassment from showing too obviously to him.

[Ahana~]

"I just didn't wanted to scare you. I knew you will....overreact to this."Jared told her and leant against the couch. It was true. He knew she would have overreacted like she had done when they had last met and he hoped that she won't overreact now!

"I feel like I would have reacted better if you had told me directly rather than sneak around like all of this," Mara said and then shook her head. "Maybe you were scared of my reaction, but this really feels worse than if you'd been honest. And why had you been following me around?!"

"Well, I wasn't sneaking around, to be honest. That day you got attacked by that weirdo, I was just causally roaming around. Trust me! Everything was a coincidence."Jared said with sigh. He knew that the imprinting wasn't a coincidence though but he didn't think it would be right to tell her now.

"I mean after that," Mara said, rolling her eyes. "Why were you so clingy and stuff?" Still, the only reason she could think of was for laughs, and that was upsetting. But he didn't seem like he'd been laughing at her lately.

"Umm...Mara...I just like you."Jared admitted with a sigh. He couldn't tell her that he had imprinted on her and she was his soulmate and stuff but at least he could tell her that he liked her a lot. It was true. He really liked her and he hoped she would understand.

Mara scoffed. "Yeah right. That's the biggest garbage I've ever heard," she said, shaking her head. "Nobody likes me, that's not how this works."

Jared looked at her and gave her a strange look. "I like you, Mara. It is the truth, believe it or not."he said. He didn't understand why nobody was supposed to like her. Was it some kind of universal rule?

Mara shook her head, still not believing it. "Whatever you say. But I know people who've said that before. I know how it ends up, and it's not with that truth."

Jared sighed. "Believe me or not, I really like you."he said and looked at her. He didn't understand why she was so stubborn. Couldn't she just understand that he was telling the truth the whole time?

Mara looked at him and then just shrugged. "Sure," she said. "Anyway, I was about to go eat...so do you want to come?" She stood up and absently fixed her shirt, looking away from him again.

Jared sighed. It seemed like she is not someone to believe him so easily. "Well, sure!"he said with a chuckle. He put on his black leather jacket which was lying beside him and was ready to go.

"Alright then, come on," Mara said, already walking off without him. She crossed her arms over herself and decided not to talk for the rest of their walk. It wasn't long, so hopefully he wouldn't ask about her silence.

Jared nodded and started to walk beside her. It was kind of awkward that she knew about his feelings but still didn't talk to him. Was it wrong to tell his feelings so soon. "Ummm...Mara...do you like me?"he asked at last, reaching for her hand.

"I don't know," Mara answered, pulling her hand away from his reach. She could decide if any relationship at all was a good idea for her in her state. It wasn't necessarily that she was ruined by a previous romance, but instead that she just didn't feel like wanting to like someone.

After checking out their dorms, Fire and Lucas took a stop at the common room to collect themselves and decide what to do now.

Lucas flopped down on the closest couch, grabbing a book that was on the coffee table. "So, how's your room?"

"It's fine, I guess. Decent size, bland for now, but that's easy to fix," Fire said and moved to sit down as well. "Yours?"

"It has a bed, so it's okay..." He replied, actually getting into the book now.

"So do you even want to go out and try to get decorations?" she asked, but was already sensing he was getting distracted.

"Hm..? Oh, right. Yeah." Lucas replied, clearing his throat before looking up. "What do you think you'll need?"

"I think paint, some more shelves, and just little extra stuff," Fire said and shrugged. "Do you have ideas for your room already?"

"Nope." Lucas replied, sighing. "Maybe just a tv and a punching bag. Maybe even a few drawers."

Fire rolled her eyes. "The cool guy act is really frustrating sometimes, you know. That seriously can't be all you need in order to feel comfortable."

"Thats...Actually all I need. " He replied, consfused. "I brought all my other things beforehand, you know."

"Oh so that's why you have double the amount of luggage I do," she said. "I thought it was because of all of that...extra 'hobbie' things you indulge in."

"Oh, that's coming in next week." He replied, looking back at the book. "Couldn't exactly bring it in the back of our parents impala."

"You're ridiculous," she said, shaking her head. "No wonder Lune used to complain about having you for a roommate."

Lucas rolled his eyes, looking at her. "I like being prepared, that's all."

"No, I'm prepared. You're a borderline hoarder," Fire said, totally overexaggerating, but meaning every word.

"I am not." He said, scoffing. "Really."

"No, you really are," she said, shaking her head at him. "But go ahead and drown in your hoard. It's what dragons are known for, right?"

"Right." Lucas replied, chuckling. "So, when do You Want to go to town?"

"I'm perfectly ready to go now," Fire said. "What about you? Still too stuck in that random book?"

Lucas rolled his eyes,standing. "I'll just get it later." He replied, throwing it aside again.

"Alright, then lets shop now," Fire said, standing as well. "Did you get a map of this place?"

"Nope." He replied, looking at his phone. "Means we'll have to do it the old fashioned way."

"Searching," she finished. "Well, then we better get going."

Lucas made sure he had his wallet before nodding. "Let's go."

Fire started towards the door without another word. She didn't like not knowing where they were going, but she would learn pretty quick.
