5.7 desk Set - Book with author/journalist as main character
Beautiful Lies by Lisa Unger Beautiful Lies
The main character Ridley is freelance writer (which has been ok'd on other books in the help section of this task). There is no mention of it on Goodreads, but I have a quote (and link) to a Barnes and Noble review:
"When a photographer catches FREELANCE WRITER Ridley Jones saving a toddler from being struck by a speeding van on a New York City street, she basks in her sudden celebrity. But that one heroic act will set in motion a series of events that will shake her world to its very foundations and put her life in jeopardy…" http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/beaut...
Also a quote from page 15 in the book: "He gave me the name Ridley after Ridley Scott, the filmmaker...he always was a bit of a film buff. he thought this was a very unusual first name for a girl, something special, and that it would encourage me to lead an extraordinary life. And he felt that as a WRITER living in New York City, I was doing just that.
Best I can do, I hope that is enough.

If you are using the two book option, your books do not have to be by the same author. If a book has multiple authors, all authors must fit the requirements. Middle initials may be ignored.
