I think I can (no commitments past May, depending on what we may do after Dragonbone's Chair).
I'm interested, Angela. School is about to start kicking my ass, but the semester will be over the first week of May...
Karen and I have decided to buddy read Soldier's Son, starting with Shaman's Crossing on the 7th of May. Would anybody else like to join us? And should we make a thread for it within Realm of the Enderlings even though it is a different story?
Are you going to read them one after the other Laura? If you are I'll set up a folder. If not then just set up the first one in standalones as we can always move it later into a folder.
Folder is set up Laura and book one is there. I loved the Soldier Son series when I read it. Hope you do as well.

Hacen and I would like to go for a buddy read of the Kingkiller Chronicle on the 1st of June. Would anybody else be interested in joining us?

I've read five short stories in the Powder Mage world and all were great, I really like his style, it's quite similar to Sanderon's style in a a few ways. May/June/July sounds like a good idea. I'll join Promise of blood, but I'm not sure I'll read the trilogy in one go.
If anyone's interested in doing a buddy read with any of these let me know :) I'd like to read them sometime this year.Fool's Errand
Prince of Fools
This Savage Song
Three Dark Crowns

Depending on when you do Fool's Errand, I would be in. I have to read the Liveship Traders series first so if you decide to do Tawny Man later in the year I would join you. If other people are interested in doing it earlier, by all means, start before me.

Would you like to buddy read Liveship traders with Rob, Anni and me Jenna? We want to do it after Royal Assassin is finished. Probably starting with end of March.

I'd be in for that. :)
I'd be in for that. :)

Awesome :) We will make a schedule for Liveship Traders and let you know when we are done.

Yeay! that's nice! I think even Jonathan and Karen will join us.
I might join in the discussion for liveship and maybe do a reread. It was my favorite of the 3 series I've read by Hobb.

Good to hear - I've been putting it off because Farseer got progressively worse for me. I still liked it, but it got really tedious.

I felt the same about farseer. I gave the first two book 4* and the third 3*. It's been awhile since I read the liveship trilogy but I remember enjoying it. I gave the first two books 4.5* and the third 4*.
looks like I'm the only one over here who really loved Farseer until now. The first 2 books were both a five star for me. Hope the third book will be the same :). I was honestly dreading to start on the Liveship Traders - big fat books with a different kind of plot.... But after what everyone here is saying my interest for the series is growing by the minute.
Laura, you're not alone - Robin Hobb is one of my favourite authors, and the Farseer trilogy is my favourite of the Elderlings books (I haven't read the Fitz and the Fool trilogy yet though). The only reason I didn't join your read was because I read/re-read all of the Elderling books a year ago. The Liveships books are different (a quick look at my ratings shows I put them all as 4 star - this is because I am very hard in my ratings!), but still great books.
I really love all of those books but the original Farseer trilogy always was and always will be my favourite!
Laura I've really enjoy Hobbs books. I haven't read any for a couple of years. Unfortunately haven't felt the inclination to reread them. I was a bit annoyed after the The Rain Wild Chronicles book 3 felt like a filler book. Still haven't brought myself to read book 4 Blood of Dragons. I don't generally actively follow authors so I guess I had assumed the Chronicles would be a trilogy and it wasn't.
How about I go ahead and set up the discussion and whoever's interested can comment and we'll figure out a date then. I'm not in any hurry. I'd just like to read the series this year.
Hacen wrote: "Laura and I will be reading Shadows of Self starting February 26 if anyone wants to join :)"I just so happen to have ordered this last week - if it arrives in the post tomorrow I'll be hopping straight into it :)
Awesome! Even if you're late to starting you should still join the discussion. There's always people willing to talk about Sandersons books :)
Yeah exactly, and going on the fact that I read Alloy of Law in two sittings, I'll have no problem catching up!
Hi All! I was wondering if anyone is interested in read the Red Rising trilogy (starting with Red Rising in the next days?
It would be good to read it with someone else but I am not opposed to binge read the whole series on my own!
I was thinking about starting tomorrow already but I can hold off some days in case someone else jumps on the Red Rising train!
I would recommend doing Red Rising on audio. TGR adds a lot to the series. I think my main fault with the author is a lack of empathy within the characters at time. That's partially supposed to be true but it makes it come off flat. I read the first book and listened to the last two. Listening made it much better.

I've done that for a few books. It's actually quite enjoyable especially when you're a little on the tired side. It helps you focus when your mind might normally wander.

This is the same reason why I tend to buy both. It maximizes my reading abilities - I cannot do more than this. I do not have excuses to not read!
