The Shadow Throne
The Price of Valour
The Guns of Empire
Similarly I'm going to try to knock out the second and third books of the Gentlemen Bastards series having already read The Lies of Locke Lamora before book 4 comes out September 22.
Red Seas Under Red Skies
The Republic of Thieves
The Thorn of Emberlain
Anybody with interest in either?
I would love to do the Shadow Campaigns with you - I'm about half-way through book 1, but I've been reading it a lot.
I would definitely be up for The Thorn of Emberlain when it comes out and will pop in on dicussions of the other two, but it's a bit too early for a re-read.

Sometime in the near future I would love to do a buddy read for the Ryiria books starting with the first one
I am currently reading Red Seas under Red Skies at the moment Scott. When are you planning to start?

I recently read the first one, but I would be up for Rise of Empire when you get to it.

I set up a couple folders for the different series mentioned so far - you can add what book in the series you are reading in your own discussion. (The folders won't be visible until you add a discussion)
Jenna ill keep that in mind. I have to finish two trilogies that I started the broken empire and the black company first:) iam on book 2 in both at the moment
Jarek wrote: "Sometime in the near future I would love to do a buddy read for the Ryiria books starting with the first one"
I've done the first three Riyeria and Age of Myth but haven't done the middle three books. So I'd do a read of the below.
The Crown Tower
The Rose and the Thorn
The Death of Dulgath

Let me know when you're good to go on Shadow Campaigns books two and three. I can read them concurrently with HOC and I'll just maintain a slower pace on that beast. Shadow Campaigns are a much easier read compared to Malazan.

I wasn't planning on that until after shadow campaigns. So probably late July into late August. If you haven't read book three by the time I get there we can do that one.

I agree! I have so many series that I've started and now I'm trying to finish them up, but they never seem to end.

Jarek, Ryiria is on my TBR. Let me know later in the year when you work out a month you are going to start the book and I'll try and buddy read at the same time.
Great Angela. I'll do that:) its funny I always try to read one book at a time but then I find something really cool and can't help myself to start it. Then I realize that I have 3-4 books started at once:D
I just started reading Prince of Fools, first book of The Red Queen's War by Mark Lawrence. I will probably finish this within the week, but I could hold up with books 2 (The Liar's Key) and 3 (The Wheel of Osheim) if anyone wants to join me for the series?
I wouldnt want to hold up anyone. My reading time is rather Limited. I read on the way and back from work and then some in the evenings so it takes some time for me. I think I need about a month or two to finish the broken empire trilogy and the last two from the first black company. That will leave me with just deadhouse gates currently reading but i put that on hold for a time being half way through. So closer to september iam in if anybody wants to join reading the riyria revelations, maybe the shattered sea trilogy by Ambercrombie

I have also read book 1, so I could read it with you, but I might have to wait a bit because of other books on my to-read list.

Jenna wrote: "I have also read book 1, so I could read it with you, but I might have to wait a bit because of other books on my to-read list. "That would be great. I also have lots of other books and series to occupy me, so it can easily wait for a bit :)
I've read all those within the last year and a half. I can recommend the Lightbringer books by Weeks too.
Can anyone recommend the Demon Cycle?
I loved the first Demon Cycle book. The second was good too, but took awhile to really grab me.I have a paperback of the third one staring down at my from my bookshelf, neglected and unread.
I agree with Chris. The Painted Man was an amazing read for me, while The Desert Spear was a little harder to get into - but still worth the effort. I also have yet to get going with the third one.
I'd be up for the demon cycle come fall. Between Malazan, Shadow Campaigns and Gentleman Bastards I'm probably tapped until then.
I'd also be up for the Dagger and Coin series by Abraham
https://www.goodreads.com/series/5377...
The aspect emperor series or prince of nothing series by Bakker
https://www.goodreads.com/series/4575...
https://www.goodreads.com/series/4051...
I haven't read any of these series.

Prince of Nothing from Bakker as this is the first trilogy. The story is good, but its especially the writing. I'd be up for the Dagger and Coin too.

I would be interested in all of those as well, but like Scott, I might need a bit of time to catch up on other reading.

So I got a few from the library:Empire in Black and Gold
Herald of the Storm
Seveneves
Anyone interested in one of these titles?

The first two are on my to-read list, but I don't see myself getting them before you have to bring them back to the library. :(

I wouldn't worry too much about that. The libraries here are very relaxed, as long as the books aren't reserved you can renew them up to four times (12 weeks) and after that Ireturn them and borrow them again straight away.

Then maybe Empire in Black and Gold? I don't know when though...it would depend on how long I take to read House of Chains.

Its a massive doorstopper!
I've been "about to read" Dagger and Coin for years now lol....and yes, Empire in Black and Gold has been on my list for just as long...Ugh, too many books too little time.
Ryiria and Herald of Storm are on my to-read list so i'm interested in those. I'd be up for Brian Staveley's Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne series if anyone is interested.
Samir I just have the third one to read so would be happy to join you if enjoy the first one and kept reading up to the final book. I read 1 & 2 this year so they're still pretty fresh in my mind if you want to discuss them as you read them.

I would do all of them but I know think I can commit until the fall. Empire in Black and Gold in particular I would love to give a shot.

No worries, I'd be more than happy to discuss even if we don't read them quite at the same time!

Yes I'll do some administrative work later today.

Scott made quite a few folders, but you can't see them until you make a discussion under it. If there is any specific series you would like to make a schedule for, you can start your own discussion. :) If the folder is not made, just add it to the "general group info" folder and I will organize it accordingly.

Just checked out The Neverending Story from the library. Anybody interested? Dunno if that's anyone's style, but it's been on my to-read list for ages.

I am ready to buddy read The Wheel of Osheim whenever you are! I have just finished my re reads of the first two and am raring to go. I am pleased to find someone else to read it with :)

Personally, the first one was 5 stars but I couldn't get on with the next one

I think they should see the choose folder option like we do.

Please note, a lot of people in the group plan their schedules months in advance, so if you don't find anyone who is interested in the book you are reading, try again for a different time. :)
