@Nirkatze: your first Stephen King book?? It won't be your last, I promise you that :) His earlier work is still the greatest, but the recenter work are also master pieces.
Monika, I am up to read First Law. And I'm also finishing book two in WoT so maybe we can buddy read that series too
Paula, Silvana thanks girls! I'll check if we need new BR thread or can use old ones for our reading. Paula I have book 1 of First Law ( The blade itself), so we can start whenever we know where we can put our comments, for WoT I need to read books 1 and 2 to catch up with you :)

Here's our thread. I posted a link which explains a little of the 19 ref.
Iain, can we use book threads in Abercrombie folder for our 'First Law' BR with girls without making new ones? I think that could be easier, we could ammend the date on it or something...

You can, but Yanique asks that you still put in the Form Requests... just mention that you want to reuse the old threads in the Special Instructions... this is so the new BRs will appear in the List of Future Buddy Reads

Iain, thank you for info. Request sent. Paula, Silvana I asked for Feb 1st to start with 'The blade itself' and follow the rest of the series with using old treads, so we wait for mods approval and start if you, Paula, are ok with it and Silvana joining us when we reach Best Served Cold :) Sorry for grammar and spelling girls LOL!

I have 'Best Served Cold' on my Tbr - I read the first trilogy. If you would like to start sometime this month. :D

I might join you in re-reading the first three books, including 'The Blade Itself' - if that's okay. :D
Hi Laure, I am full for January and mid February but maybe can squeeze Best Served Cold in late February at the soonest if you don't mind. Or we could also read together with the others when they finish the first trilogy?

I might actually do a re-read with everyone else as I read the first trilogy five or six years ago!

I still want to read the Nightfall saga but I'm not in a hurry.

Hi Everyone!
T'is your friendly neighborhood Threadmster here to remind you to:
1. Make a separate request for each book in a series that you want to set up BRs for. Every book needs its own request, and upcoming/current BRs need new threads.
2. Use the format that Iain mentioned which includes the series name and number.
3. Please double check the date (especially the year) you are requesting the reads for. I can manually make the threads with the correct year, but the form autopopulate the data on our master sheet. Your BR you requested for 2003 may be lost in the ether...
Our entire system (which works beautifully) is based on those request forms, so please use the above guidelines.
Thank you!

I did new requests for whole First Law series, separate for each book.
Paula wrote: "Monika, I am up to read First Law. Who knows maybe in some point we will be able to join in in one of uncoming ones LOL! I'm not sure if I'll be able to start book 1 this week, but I think we need new BR request for others to join if they wish to and have enough time to read First Law in between :)
Anyone interested in reading KJ Parker's Sixteen Ways to Defend a Walled City this year? Physical, kindle, and audio book have been filling my TBR for quite a bit now!If I like it (and I'm pretty sure it is right up my alley), I'd continue on through the series.

There are actually readalongs going on YouTube for both these series. There will be liveshow talking about each book.
The announcement and for both readalongs can be found here if anyone is interested:
First Law: https://youtu.be/8rfF1ivDBRA
WoT: https://youtu.be/y0ruqzdfgsc
I would have liked to do both but that is way too much pressure for me even at a 1 every two month time frame. I'm planning on loosely joining in with the WoT one but since the first book was for December/January and I will probably be a bit behind for the first few books

I worked on the threads for this series, but after looking at those older threads, I will make new threads for the new BR of this series for organization and the make sure the threads are open to new readers and separate from comments left by previous readers.
Those new threads will be up today.
@Iain can you please manually put in the series name and numbers for the First Law series requests in the FBR spreadsheet? Thanks

Monika, yeah, requesting new (or renamed) threads for WoT is a good idea. Don't worry if you can't start so soon the first book, I'm in no rush, I still haven't even finished book two Hailee, that's nice, thanks. I'll check later those links in my computer since I can't open them in my phone

I'm interested! I could do something near the end of a month... maybe not January though...

I requested threads for first 5 books of WoT so far, we will see how we will go with them in between other Buddy Reads and will add requests for rest of series later if you don't mind :)
Everyone, just a reminder of what @Iain stated previously, when requesting books in a series, please use the format:

Nope, no need to make new requests. @Iain will add the series names to the sheet when he has the time. We're just really trying to streamline everything for the BRs.
I'm making your threads now 😁

Yea… I can and do edit existing BR requests when it makes sense… otherwise we end up with duplicates in the Master List, or Incomplete/Hidden requests to avoid duplicates in the Master List…
Just assume anything Yanique says about threadmaking supersedes what I say… she IS the Thread Master after all (I think that’s the title… not shown on mobile unless I switch to desktop mode)…

You should update the "how to get buddy reads added" instruction thread with this info too.
Good call… we might have to make a new thread tho… can’t remember who made the old thread, but not sure it’s an active Mod/Member… I think I just posted the update as a comment at the end of that thread, a few weeks ago…
Or find out what happens when you delete the first post in a thread… making a new thread would invalidate a bunch od old links directing people to the original thread…
EDIT: Wiped out all but 4 comments in the How to Get BRs Added thread, used 4 of my comments to explain how to make BR Requests the newest way, and some old answered questiosn like where to find Buddies (this thread), and added some screenshot examples...

Not sure if I have this one at home... Hmmm... I have some of David's books on my shelf, but don't remember to have this one. Possibly I did read it when teen, but could be nice to read it for sure...
Everyone, I am going to retire this thread and start a new thread for buddy read invites. Feel free to jump over there and continue your important planning conversations!
