I really like this idea... just sayin'. Geniuses, y'all are.

Hey! Would love to read it with you! Happy to use the old thread if we can dig it out, that sounds easier.
Iain, is that ok do you think? Also, love the idea above of putting the series in brackets, I'll try to remember!
Thanks Iain for the recordkeeping post. Will be sure to use the series format in the future. I'm sure everyone will appreciate the added clarity at a glance.

I believe Yanique posted something about this in the Mods Please Adjust This Buddy Read thread...
Her response was to do as much of the thread stuff through the BR Form as possible (for similar reasons to why I like it that way these days, the Master Buddy Read tab)... so, if you want to adjust or re-use an old thread, put in a request like normal, and then mention the old thread and URL in the special instructions section, and she'll just adjust that thread, and it'll appear in the BR List...

Probably just me, but I didn't quite get this Iain. Do you mean put the name of the series in brackets and which number book it is in the series?

I think these suggestions are excellent!
I have tried to include this information myself when I notice it's part of a series while making the threads. However, that information doesn't show up in the Master BR sheet unless it's put on the request form.

I hacked the Gibson!

Seriously, tho... I went into the BR request Form repository (a hidden sheet tab that takes data from form submissions once when submitted, and can be freely, if dangerously, edited)...
Added series info to all BRs appearing on the forthcoming BR list... also noticed that Nirkatze scheduled some Blood & Bone BRs for 2022 instead of 2023, so they were missing from the future list and I fixed that:

Is anyone interested in buddy reading Backpacking Through Bedlam (book 12 of Incryptid series by Seanan McGuire)? I am thinking one week after release date, so March 14.
Me too... I can't quit InCryptid now, even if I haven't loved the last bunch of entries as much as the first 5...
I will put in a request. I feel the same as you Iain. I always read the new release in the series although it took me 3 tries to get through #10.
I was hyped for alice for years… then read it and dissatisfied a bit… hopefully I like Bedlam better…
I had similar problems with Antigone after reading her roller derby short stories and loving them, vs her Verity 2.0 full stories… altho I liked some of her 3 books more than others…
The Cuckoo books were weird departure too, honestly…

Anyone interested in BRing The Book That Wouldn’t Burn when it comes out? It's supposedly due to come out in May sometime but there's no specific date yet...I'm really intrigued by this one, I wasn't that fussed by The Girl and the Stars release and have yet to read that series, but I'm really intrigued by this one, it has such an interesting premise.

Yes! I did read the first Girl in the Stars book and wasn't crazy about it. But Lawrence has said that the second and third books had much better ratings.
Anyway, I'm in for Book no Burn

I'm interested in that one.
I didn't know it was coming until I read the blurb, and now I want to read the book... I'd say I'm hit or miss with Mark Lawrence... didn't love the nun series, skipped the sequel ice series, was suckered into the Time Travel series, despite it having issues, because I love time travel...
Willing to try this new library/bookie series... some reviews are getting pretty hyperbolic, saying it TRANSCENDS SF/F...

Aw man, I hate that the cover is SO SO pretty~, and the blurb spanning vast lengths of time is so enticing, but the book is by a firm grimdarkNOPE author. Sad day. If it turns out to not be filled with endless night and M̶̹̥̓o̶̗̳͋͝r̴̥̈́͠d̵͚̙͗͋o̷̦͘k̴̹͑͂ ̷̦̐t̶̘̲̅̑h̶͕͈̐͋è̶̮ ̴̰̇̈́D̵͍̥̕͘è̸͚̥ş̵̑̏t̴̫̃̀r̴̬͓̓ö̸̡́̅y̴̛̪͑e̶̬͛̕r̵̰̦͐ ̴̭̝̇͐o̴̟͒ḟ̵̯ ̸̘͂̍͜S̴͇͕̈́͋ơ̷͓u̵̺͉̔ĺ̸̘s̷͙̓ then let me know.

I found the old thread for Babel [here]!
See any 2nd run Babelers over there!
Great guys! I'll put a request in then. :) I'll just pick a random date in May.@Chris, Good to know that that series gets better!
@Mel, Lol, fair enough. I kinda get the sense that he doesn't want to solely be known as grimdark and is trying to branch out a bit, and this book strikes me as an attempt at it. But if there is anything ultra dark, we'll let you know for sure!

Thanks Beena! I’m interested to hear that he’s taking things in a different direction. I may wait on reviews and read before deciding. Nirkatze, the cursed text was just a copy/paste from an online Zalgo text generator. :)

@Iain & Mel--thank you for the info about Zalgo text! I'd never even heard of it!

Okay, I put in a request.. Was going to set it for the 20th, but since it's King, went with 19..

I've been really wanting to read this... If I can make it work I'll be there!

I've had this on my TBR forever. If I can juggle it I will join. :)

Thank you! This will actually be my first Stephen King book... so you'll have to explain the 19 reference once we get the thread. :)
So, I know a lot of folks gave up on Black Jewels with the newest releases, but is anyone interested in reading The Queen’s Price sometime after it comes out 3/7? Earlier or later?
Peeps I'm hell of behind with Buddy Reads stuff, I realised I have 'The blade itself' and ' The wisdom of crowns' by Joe Abercrombie and 'The consumer's by Brandon Sanderson from old BR and I never had a chance to read them. I'm also curious who finished book 2 of Demon Cycle and had no time last year to read books 3,4 and 5 cause I want to finish the series... In some point I do The lost metal and hopefully start WoT series...
@monika, Siobhan and I are also hoping to do The Lost Metal at some point this year if you want to join us.

@Monika we'll definitely read Lost Metal with you.And re Abercrombie - please read all of First Law before Wisdom of Crowds 😄 I wish I had time to reread or else I'd join you!!
@Monika @Siobhan I think right now we're planning Lost Metal for some time in March maybe but we'll update this thread closer to the time when we have a date.
Siobhan... Looks like I need to read whole First Law series... I thought I did read some but my GR data show none of them...Guys! Anyone interested in reading First Law series by Joe Abercrombie???

I am interested but not for the main trilogy, let me know if you want to read Best Served Cold and the next books.

I had started Babel with the earlier BR last year, but haven't finished--and I would like to. I'd be down for a BR. Might swap to the audiobook because it keeps going even when I don't. :) I should be able to join in by Saturday.
We could even read in the old thread if that would be more convenient than bugging the Mods for a new one.
@Mods--if there is an old thread, and it has already been used for a BR, would it be appropriate to submit a thread request to update for a new read, or should that only be used for archived BRs that didn't actually happen yet?
