How does one read a book when it is in a plastic bag?

If there is a hole to see through, there is a hole to read through! LOL

lol I see! I was picturing reading it through the bag and didn't know how you'd turn the pages without opening the bag :P

Haha, my natural preference is to be relatively less chatty as well and I grappled with the idea of opting for a similar team. But then, decided to opt for a chatty team and see if I can cope. :)

Rachel, I thought this would be a good opportunity to break out of my reading rut. Nothing like social pressure to get cracking! :)
Looking forward to being on the team.

Absolutely. Not a problem.

Nope. I forget if we determined a start time. I'll converse with the other mods about it and see about getting a clock going. :D

@ Sumit; exactly the same here. I always feel like team challenges pushes me to read more. And I must admit, I like the competition.
@Diane: Personally I've been both on chatty and quiet teams before and both have their pros and cons. I've always chosen my preference depending on my schedule and work. If I feel I can keep up with a chatty team, I would opt for that one. I've noticed that for captains quiet teams are the most painful, aside from that they can be quit nice as well :)
Oh and my favourite book is The Three Musketeers, fell in love with it when I was twelve, and the sequels are even better.

And overwhelming.
I'm diving in with the hopes that I'll redeem my failure with the Around the World Challenge (apologies to former teammates.) Just the summer/fall boost I need, perhaps. I easily read a book a week, so I think I can handle the pressure.

I wouldn't worry too much about this. I don't 100% know what the mods have up their sleeves, but from past experience, I can say that there are always options!
In most cases any task you get will also accept any reasonable variations. A task calling for a romance book would also accept a sci-fi romance, paranormal romance, or historical romance (to name a few).

Vicky is correct. There's ways to do everything and for anything that DOES ask for Genres, that's why we asked you what your favorite genres are. If a team has players that only read romance, and historical, we're not going to ask them to read biography and science fiction.
Mostly you just need to be flexible on choosing things to read. It's about working with your team to cover tasks so it's a lot of picking books in the moment, rather than having a set lineup ready now.
I hope you'll take a chance on it. :)

Have you read our initial info in the All about Wobble? That'll give you some general info of what is going on.
If you haven't done anything like any of these before, it might be a good idea to take a look at one of our former Wheel-a-thon events or Battleship (you can find those old threads linked HERE.) Read over the rules so you have a little bit of an idea.
All the events are different. You're not really "assigned" anything, but you work with your team to figure out what everyone can read. For example, if the team gets the world "WOBBLE" to spell out. 6 members will each take a letter, and its up to you all to figure out who reads what.
All the captains ARE seasoned in our team challenges, so they will be able to help. Just ask when you are unsure. Many people will have many questions, as we've never done an event like this before. :)
And ENJOY!

BTW, SO glad that you posted. I was actually going to go hunting for you soon. The user idea we needed include the numbers before your name, so I hadn't known who you were. YAY. Now I don't have to search!
Again, welcome and I hope you love Wobble! :)

I also enjoy chatty teams :-)

Why....they just have a won..."
If you liked them - then you'll love his latest release Britt-Marie Was Here - was a 5 star page turner!

It's amazing what a good team member will read for the sake of their team :)

When does the challenge begin?"
Hello Tati :)
It's going to start July 17th. We are still discussing time zone by which we'll go.

I think Tea might have had a spell check correction happen. I just happened upon these posts and I'm not a moderator, but it is a June 17 start date, Tati.

It does start in June (June 17th).
Maybe Tea isn't quite ready for Wobble to start yet. ;)

I have Britt-Marie Was Here.out from the library, now i just need to get to it before it's due back.

Maybe Tea isn't quite ready for Wobble to start yet. ;)"
No, I have problem remembering which month comes first, June or July. :P I totally blame it on a fact that we use our own words for months, but mostly we just go by numbers.
Sorry, for confusion everyone!
Just to make you all happy, I'm currently playing with ships for you to sink in first round ;)

Maybe Tea isn't quite ready for Wobble to start yet. ;)"

Own words? Wanna know portuguese words?
June = Junho
July = Julho
ONE LETTER DIFFERENCE
How's that for confusing and hard time? Even sounds are alike, so verbal month is a good thing to understand

Oh, my gosh -- I would have a terrible time keeping them straight!

June = Junho
July = Julho
ONE LETTER DIFFERENCE

Well we have something completely different :P
June = lipanj - based on Cro word for linden which is supposed to bloom then
July = srpanj - because most of the harvesting that is done in that month (meaning farms and co.)
See, nothing similar
btw, I typed it wrong again first time :P

I know... I just use the numbers... less confusing.

June = Junho
July = Julho."
Very similar in Spanish too (Junio y Julio)
Although I've started learning some Scottish Gaelic and June & July are very different there too
June = An t-Ogmhìos
July = An t-Luchar

6月 = June
7月 = July
It may be the only part of Japanese that's easy to learn, though! They get back at you by having dozens and dozens of special words just to count stuff, hehe.

June..juin
July..juillet
And italian
June..giunio
July..luglio
There os no J in italian..giu becomes J sound
:)
This is cool....all these different languages :)

My two friends who know (some, a good amount of) Japanese, just use the "child" numbers for counting. At least, that's how they explained it to me -- instead of using different numbers for flat things, and round things, and whatever, they just use the numbers the little kids first learn. Is that really a thing? I always thought they might be pulling my leg....
