Wobbly WOBBLE: Pre-Challenge chat
If you signed up for Wobble prior to June 1st and HAVE NOT checked in with your teams, you must do so by Wednesday, June 15th or you WILL BE REMOVED!!
If you signed up for Wobble after June 1st, you are on the reserve list. Reserves will start taking the place of players who haven't shown up. Look out in your GoodReads Mail for notification of your team! You should hear something by Thursday, June 16th if we are able to get you on a team.
Replacements will be notified in the morning.
Please keep your eye on your PMs and join your team as soon as you are able. There were a lot of NoShows, so we really hope some of you replacements are ready to play!!
I'm crossing my fingers!!!!!! and if not selected I may be a friendly ghost and adopt a team to haunt :D
Since I just signed up yesterday, I probably won't be picked but I am hoping that I am. :)

Wow! We can start reading? But it's still the middle of the night out west! Ah well, I'm not sleepy and was wishing I could start reading, so I'm happy that I CAN start reading. :-)
There is a new list of Reserves
While all reserves HAD been initially put in teams, more reserves have signed up and we had some issues where members who didn't check in on time were replaced but are here now.
We will do what we can to place you on a team, but right now teams are full, with some still waiting on their reserves to check in. If they do not, then we can use some of the New Reserves.
Please be patient if you are waiting. Teams are based on book counts and we can't just put people on any team. You will be messaged directly by the mod account and/or your captain if you are placed on a team.

Battleship rules question, not sure where to post it...Rules state: " bonus points - 1 point per book
- after task for hit square is done (2 books read), members that weren't reading that task can read book to collect extra points (page numbers still count). Maximum is 8 bonus points per hit."
Example: My team completes the task for a hit square (2 books read) and then I read a 200 page "bonus" book. Do I get 2 points for the 200 pages? 3 points for 1 book + 200 pages? Or just 1 point for 1 book?
ETA: I see the spreadsheet auto-populated 10 slots to fill in books for hits. So I'm guessing that's where the 8 bonus points come from. Then, I suppose, the only question left is: Do we get points for the # pages of the bonus books too? It seems like yes, but the "Max 8 bonus pts" is confusing me. Thanks!!
Ask it of your team captain, Ray. All questions go directly through your captains/co-captains and they know the answer to that.

ohh... hmm, I thought we didn't get points awarded for a guess until two people finished reading books for a square...
It's just the way the spreadsheet is set up, it shows it ahead of time. I don't know if it's being changed or just staying that way. Everything about the points system (how you get them) changed with the introduction of the automated sheet. We didn't know that the sheet could be that automated.
btw, I gotta say, those spreadsheets are really well done! I'd never be able to do anything of the sort!So congrats to the Spreadsheet Master (sorry, don't know who you are)

Lol. You guys are all ridiculous on the spreadsheet stuff. :-PI think the ones for the next challenge will be simpler but we shall see once they're up and running.
Will we not be getting our first word before the start of Wheel-a-thon? I thought it might be helpful for planning purposes. (Also, because I will be gone this weekend and unable to get new books to read for it lol)

Books can only be entered after wheelathon starts.

Thank you mods, fellow NBRCers, especially those who volunteers to captain & co-captain the teams, and of course the mods again for such an awesome challenge. There were highs (killing things ), lows (reading Death Wore Brown Shorts) and most of all lots and lots of fun!
So, thank you all for making it so :)
Big question now: when's the next one?! and can we add team RPG to the roster of awesome team challenges? can we can we can we, pleeeeeeeeeeese!
Ditto to everything Catherine said. This was an awesome challenge. I can't wait to see what you lovely Mods come up with next but I have to say I will definitely miss this challenge and hope to see it pop up again and will definitely miss my awesome Team Tarpirs ladies. They are an awesome group of ladies.

I'm going through the same thing! I have a few books with animals on the covers and I'm like, "Crap! Do I read these now or save them for bingo?" I should probably save them because I don't read a large amount of books with animals on them, but I want to read them SO bad!
