I will check for you.

Karsyn (imzadi) Teams will be finalized today. If you have a last minute request, I will try to honor that request, but I need to cut it off at some point.

Let's go ahead and say you can still make last minute requests (to be with a friend, to change team chattiness) until 3pm EST. That's just under 5 hours from now. After that we will need to stick with what we have going on.

Hope that works for everyone.

Reed (reedraab) Totally works for me! :-) I am so excited to meet my team and start this challenge soon!!! XD

Tia (fatgirlfatbooks) Finalized teams - woo! That's one step closer! I don't know how I'm ever going to make it through over two weeks of waiting for the challenge to actually begin, though. D=

It took me forever to read War and Peace, and I still don't know what the big deal is (I honestly don't know)

Newbie question: will teams be posted here?

message 1009: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5688 comments Mod
What tends to happen is all the teams get their own thread and we're told which thread to go to by PM

Sometimes (when we've been well behaved) the mods will post a link to the organising spreadsheet so we can find out that way as well.

No, though we'll probably mention it. :) Teams will just start going up..... one day soon. :D Not too much longer.

Karsyn (imzadi) Requests are now Closed

Teams are (crosses fingers) hopefully finalized. People Tetris was making my head hurt (though it may have been the neighbors right outside my window blaring their awful music, so glad it started raining!) :D

I hope the music stays off! Keeping hearing the bass from something one of our neighbours is listening to and I think it's slowly driving me mad.

I hope people tetris has been successful and the headache goes soon

Ugh, I know that feeling. Our neighbors have decided it would be a good idea to grill outside our open bedroom window... at 3:30 a.m.! I get late night snacks, but jeez. Can't wait until my boyfriend and I buy our own place.

Wobble

Sign-ups are for RESERVE LIST ONLY
From now on, any sign-ups will be placed on the waiting list. Meaning you only get to join a team if a replacement player is needed.

No more teams will be created for W.O.B.B.L.E
No, this is not the mods being mean. Wobble requires both seasoned captains and an even number of teams.

❀ Teams will be posted Wednesday. We will NOT notify members by PM except for special cases. We have 300+ members participating, so, we will post a google spreadsheet link with team info.

WOBBLE Begins June 17th @ 11am LONDON time.
COUNTDOWN to Wobble!!

Oh yuk! We wouldn't like people above us. *Making up* we could deal with, but not clompy feet!! It's bad enough when they do it next door, they shake the whole freaking place. And these are SMALL people. I'm a tad taller than average (5'9) and I haven't been close enough to measure them or anything but there's 2 kids and the dad looks to be about 5'5, wife maybe a little taller, and they are both skinny. Sometimes it feels like there are elephants over there the way they shake the place.

It varies. It all is on book count. So there could be small teams with big readers or big teams with smaller readers. Average is around 14-15 people.

We don't have an end date. Things may vary as we go along, like if it gets too overwhelming we may put a day or two buffer between events. But at the very least it'll last a full 18 WEEKS, so sometime in October.

message 1045: by ♞ Pat (new)

♞ Pat Gent | 916 comments months - or weeks?

message 1046: by Karsyn (new)

Karsyn (imzadi) LOL, glad y'all are excited about the team sizes. We had to go by experienced captains, of which we have 24. We have 2-3 others that could have done it if need be, but we decided to cut it off with what we have.

330 people in 24 groups. 24 Captains, 48 co-captains and 258 members. That is, if everyone shows up, and they don't always, so hopefully some of the people already signed up for the reserve will get a chance to play.

message 1047: by Karsyn (new)

Karsyn (imzadi) Weeks, sorry. Weeks. Til Oct. That's what I get for typing and watching something else at the same time.
