The audio is fantastic on this one as well but it looks the whispersync audio price is $7.99 so not super cheap.

What I loved about it was actually the relationship between the dad and the 3 sisters. I think you will really like this one just for that! The "boys" and the situation on top of it made it really fun!

A kid picks up a rare book, loves it, and subsequently tries to find the author/author's other work, only to find out someone has been systematically destroying all his books. That's the simplest description I can give you and it leaves SO MUCH out -- all of these characters are intertwined and it's such a beautiful story. The audio was fantastic.

I've been having book reading blues so I decided pick up a classic. I feel like I haven't read any books lately that I gave a 5 star and I really needed a pick me up.

I keep forgetting how good these books are, I mean I know their good, but they're amazing!!! Wont get tired of reading them!

That was probably my favorite thing about that book too, Jenny! The family relationships were really sweet and realistic. The romance was a little melodramatic at times, but I still liked it and it didn't go quite in the direction I expected.

Just started Snow Like Ashes. So I have a question for you all, since I don't know much about mythology and such. Are seasoned kingdoms a thing? I've been reading some books recently (this one, A Court of Mist and Fury, and of course there's Game of Thrones) that have kingdoms spring, summer, winter, fall. Is this something the authors are doing on their own or does it have roots in fiction from the past?

Well, there's Narnia-- It focuses on seasons quite a bit through the books. And seasons in general have been inspiration in art forever. I'm sure a lot of it was inspiration from mythology as well, which definitely uses the seasons in its stories.

But you're right, it has been a recent comeback, I've picked it up in a lot of books.

Jenny makes a good point with Narnia, but I'm thinking mainly the authors are doing it on their own. I think GRRM in particular brings Narnia into the ASOIAF books because in his world there's no telling how long a season will last (a la Narnia and Jadis' rule), but in Snow Like Ashes each individual kingdom has its own season and they don't really intersperse. Haven't read ACOMAF so I can't say anything about that one, but I'm digging the trend.

I read , which was one of those twisty turny books; I am really liking those these days! I love the psychological suspense. Also finished , which was a great memoir and story of the time/ place where she grew up; also really funny! I asked for a novel by her for my birthday. I don't read that many memoirs; I like them but I am a fiction junkie! ;)

I know what you mean about non fiction Dixie. It has to be pretty well reviewed for me to read a non fiction book. Funnily one of my favorites was Rob Lowes book (first one). He narrated the audiobook and everyone in my audiobook group loved his narration so I grabbed it when it was on sale and really enjoyed it surprisingly.

I dont read much non fiction either but some comedians(mostly norwegian ones) write so great I dont mind. Been trying to read more biograpies lately.

Hey everyone! Sorry for my absence lately, its been super busy! I did buy and get a few new books, but first I'm going to share my new LIBRARY!!!

YES, I'm finally gettng my own room for my books in my house!!!!!!! This has been a dream since I was a little girl. Its still a work in progress, and will be for awhile, but setting up with what I have right now! Still a bunch of books and shelves to move!

Since I stopped being a regular here, I've read many books. I can't remember them all, so I'll narrow it down to a few.

Finished the Artemis Fowl series. Not bad, definitely not a regrettable choice.

I also finished and both of which I liked as their own books, but fell somewhat short for me as series enders. Still, I very much enjoyed both series.

I'm now about halfway through with and, as much as I want to love it, I have mixed feelings so far. I tried to read it once before and DNF. This time I will finish and hopefully be more decisive by the end of the book.

5 stars for Red Seas Under Red Skies. beautifully crafted. Halfway through 12 Years a Slave and it's good, but I think it suffers from the wordiness of the time period.
