Hugs to ya Thomas!

Marie-Anne Lutchmaya | 43 comments Unicorns are very independent minded creatures! They might give hugs but they don't accept them easily...how do I know? One of them whispered this into my ear when I was holding on to its horn to keep my balance!!

Hi Annie,
You know more about it than I do! Alas...story of my life.

message 408: by T.L. (new)

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 727 comments Unicorns are very shy. But if ur close enough to hug I think it's that they're happy to accept ;-)

(*please do not abuse unicorns & ensure any hugs are welcomed*) Honestly, legal fees in those cases are just not worth it! Oh dear; silly mood is still upon me!!

Virtual hugs to all xx

message 409: by Jane (new)

Jane Jago | 888 comments Secret is only hug happy unicorns. Cross ones will bite you....

message 410: by Marie-Anne (new)

Marie-Anne Lutchmaya | 43 comments Ouch! Just got bitten by a cross one - smiled at it but it bared its teeth in response. That's where inexperience leads you.
Am still in a silly mood - will wear off as the real world dawns on me tomorrow (Monday) - Hugs to all

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 973 comments Just hugged a friendly unicorn... then another, and another...

Note: No unicorns, friendly or otherwise, were harmed during this hugfest.

Happy Hugs to All!

message 412: by Jane (new)

Jane Jago | 888 comments The next best thing to hugging a unicorn is being hugged by your dog!

message 413: by Marie-Anne (new)

Marie-Anne Lutchmaya | 43 comments Still silly: my dog is a cat! Incidentally, the best kind of hug is a human one....all the other kinds are only substitutes. You can see that Monday is looming closer and I am becoming less daft.

message 414: by T.L. (new)

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 727 comments Nah; human hugs are smelly! ;-P
(silly as back to work after the bank holiday and I refuse to come back to reality)

I'm off to find me some friendly unicorns for a hugfest now ;)

xx

There's always soap and deodorant - perfume would be an added attraction, I suppose. Changed your mind?

message 418: by T.L. (new)

Yeah, hubby hugs are really my favouritest ;)

You are absolutely right! But husbands can be shown :):) how to be even more enthusiastic than big sloppy dogs in this particular area!

Jane and Marie-Anne - I love both, hugs from my big sloppy husband and furry kissy dogs. : )

TL - Cute song. Yes, ALL hugs are awesome. Can never have too many!

Huggums and Squeezums to All!!!!!

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 727 comments Super excited hugs to you all.

My paperback arrived!!! I can actually hold my own work in my own hands (after over 3 years!).
It's going to be a long day for my colleagues at work today; I seem to have turned into some form of excitable pixie, or maybe Tigger!! :-O

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 973 comments TL - YIPPEEEEE!!!!! You have every reason to be excited. I'm excited for you. What a feeling that must be. Enjoy it. : D

Wonderful news - you've grown a little taller, you've become a little happier and you've accessed yet another facet of your personality. Congratulations and may you go on to ever greater heights of happiness as time goes by.

Denise McLeod | 11 comments Congratulations! Its exciting isn't it! Mine came in on Wednesday and I was beside myself with excitement. I'm not sure how authors who write loads of books survive all the sleepless nights and over excitement. They must be very brave ... :-) TL wrote: "Super excited hugs to you all.

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 727 comments Oh squee Denise!
((happy hugs)) to you.

I've now approved the proof, and it's now out for sale. I've ordered some author copies so I can start going to plague bookstores etc. :)

Happy happy times.

Authors seem addicted to coffee and cookies; I think they get us through the rollercoaster of authorship.

Happily, I'm finding my feet again already this morning.

Dignity and courage are to be applauded. However sometimes one needs to throw a proper strop and kick the furniture.

Whatever you are facing, may your particular god be with you.

A hug is appropriate

Could I have a cup of coffee along with my hug? I think that might help more. I'm depressed.

message 443: by G.G. (new)

Ruthless is the best there is! 8-) I'm so glad she read your book!

Oh and my depression stems from a look at the reports page on KDP which indicates nobody gives a flying...ummm...fig-bar about my books. That's all. 8-) I'll get over it.

She is!!!

As for your depression...I hope something shows up soon that will make you feel a bit better. :P

I just bough your eBook Illusion. (It's so fresh I haven't downloaded it yet!) I know a sale isn't much but I hope it'll bring a smile to your face.

I can't promise when I'll read it though. I am reading a paperback and an eBook at the moment. I have promised someone I'd read theirs next, so maybe after those two eBooks I will start Illusion (It sounds awesome!)

message 448: by T.L. (new)

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 727 comments Aww, hugs and coffee to Shannon.
Stop looking at the sales boards; they ARE depressing, and one can obsess over them.
Instead, reflect on your achievements.
a) You have written a book
b) And completed it
c) You have had the courage to press the publish button

Now, I know so many people who when I tell them I'm an author tell me, "I've always thought about writing a book!"
They've THOUGHT about it, but haven't done it.
They've not poured their heart and soul into their work and laid it open to the public, ready for whatever comments it may receive.

You are extraordinary! And don't you forget it. xx

As for me; I just have work stuff, and big grown up scary decisions to make. I think I'll go do some colouring in instead ;-)

btw; big strops is not in my British nature.

Carol Marshall | 102 comments Agh I had steady sales last week/weekend now nothing dead since Tuesday. I'm driving myself nutty trying to figure out what I did right last week. Seriously, it's giving me a headache

message 450: by Aislinn (new)

Aislinn I've found that my sales fluctuate a lot. Mid-week is the worst time for me. Very few people seem to buy my books on Wednesdays and Thursdays, it seems!

And I haven't found a fool-proof way to boost sales. I thought some of the promo I was doing on twitter was helping, but I've just been abroad for a week where I took a break from doing all the online author stuff, and my sales are still exactly the same!

So, it isn't you, Shannon. It's just that sales are strange and unpredictable. ;)
