Some days I do need a little mental cheer-leading. Maybe it is because it is summer and hot and everyone is on vacation at the beach but it seems that no one is checking out my book and my website. I am grateful for every sale, review, inquiry, and Amazon Unlimited reader. I just wish there was a little more right now!

Aww Ralph; sort of the reason I started this thread. We all get this feeling from time to time.
And yes, it would always be nice to see some sales coming in.
It is tempting to think 'yay, everyone is going on their holidays, and will be downloading/reading lots of books. Surely I'll get some more sales now."
The best advice I can give is hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
We work in a fickle industry and there's just no predicting our sales (oh, if only we could!).
So celebrate each sale and every review, without expecting them.
Welcome to the club of hug. <3

Thanks....there are so many times I can check the numbers at my website, amazon, goodreads, etc before I start wondering what I am doing. Appreciate your good thoughts. My success was completing the book - anything else is icing on the cake!
That's the spirit! :-) Yeah; stop checking the numbers. It becomes addictive.
Que sera sera!
But can anyone please explain why Renee & Renato are earworming me?? :-O
I can't even remember the last time I heard "Save Your Love", but it's really annoying me this afternoon.
(((ALMOST THE WEEKEND HUGS)))On the down slope, easing into Fri and subsequently the weekend (praise be!).
Poor British person; a few humid days and it's like Armageddon.
One is not sleeping well.
Please send sleep!
I feel like I could just put my head down on my desk and snooze!
xx
These sort of temperatures are normal in Switzerland in summer, so I've got used to them over the last four years. However, it doesn't help that I've got some weird cold/virus thing, giving me personal temperatures of 38°CSleep is not an option.
Cold shower at 3.00 in the morning is the order of the day.
I think I'm over the worst, so no hugs required, unless you have a really good antivirus.
Sorry to be a Hug Hog here, but may I please have one today? Most of you know we rescue dogs. We are making one comfortable for his final days/weeks, however long he has. Thank you.((((( Happy Friday Hugs to All )))))

Okay, as its dog related you can have a big warm sloppy hug and one for the dog. My K9 sends whiskery embraces too
Oh Sue. Bless you. It's always hard, preparing our beloved fluffy ones for their journey across the rainbow bridge.
Big squishy hugs for this difficult time.
xx
btw I'm in a really good mood today; I actually remembered to bring in my iPod, so listening to 'tuuuunes' at my desk, zoning out all the chatter. :-) So, if you need any hugs today they may be extra effective!
:)
Hi TL!Thank you for my Monday Hugs and my Extra Hug. Yup, we've got about 20 dogs waiting for us that the rainbow bridge at this time.
Enjoy your music! : D
Just wanted to stop in and sprinkle some extra love on this awesome thread! Here ya go: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Take one and pass it on ^_~ HUGS!!!
Wow; there's going to be a massive party when you cross over, Sue! How many wonderful fur friends are going to great you? There'll be licks galore! You're an absolute angel, and I'm sure all the dogs you care for are extremely grateful for your kindness.
Annie; love the take one and pass it on :)
And yes, this thread is awesome. I love it.
((TUESDAY HUGS))
Hugs C. and TL!! And Thank you!!Yes, a lot of dog hair will be shed!! I've lost count on how many we've rescued, rehabilitated, and re-homed, but we've kept at least 20 over the past 20 years. The most dogs we've had at one time is 12 and that was absolutely hilarious. We picked up dog hair tumbleweeds from the kitchen floor every day and blew through one heavy duty vacuum cleaner per year.!!
Happy Hugs to All!!
Tee hee; that sounds like a lost opportunity to make dog hair jumpers! :-O Aww, we love them, excess fur and all <3((Big doggy hugs)) to all dogs
My husband wants our next dog to be non shedding because of all the fur. This is a problem because I'm a dog trainer. Conversations go like this::Husband: "How about a havanese?"
Me: "No, not a HAVANESE!"
Husband: "Why, are they hard to train?"
Me: "No, they're smart, and socialize well, and they clicker train like a machine."
Husband: "So what's the problem?"
Me: "No one will be impressed that this dog trainer has her six pound highly trainable fluffy dog really well under control."
So no 12 dog sheddy household for me :-(
Maybe I'll tell him that if I become a famous author he can have a Havanese...
Aww; cute! But I get your point about the Havanese. Umm...Portugese Water Dog? No; a Rhodesian Redback!! :-)
Or just get whatever you want and buy a lot of antihistamines! :-O
xx
Sorry, slightly off topic.

Stop nuzzling Annie, there's Brits with stiff upper lips here...
*okay then, just a small nuzzle, for the dog*
"Pft... pft..." Excuse me, trying to blow the dog hair off my lips.TL - Thanks for the Thursday Almost Friday Hugs!!
Annie & Jane - Thanks for the doggie nuzzling and more hugs. *takes one, passes the basket*
C. - If you become a famous author, you can have all the dogs you want. : )
India - I love Hugs, and love. This is the place to be! : )
Aww Jane; I don't mind nuzzles. That's cute! <3(I'm not normal, or a typical Brit!) ;)
It's Friday!!!! Yippee!!!
And extra yay, as I'm at home next week. No work! Ahhh! :-)
I don't want to be greedy but I could do with a hug. I'm trying to get some writing done but I keep getting all teary, don't know why, not sure what's wrong with me(((((HUGS)))))
Hugs to everyone before I go on holiday.I have two weeks of camping, swimming, reading and relaxing ahead of me, and I fully intend to not spend a minute of it thinking a bout book marketing and sales and all that associated dross. My phone is turned off, the internet is far far away. All I have for creativity is a notebook and pen, so I can do some writing old skool, and all I have for entertainment is my Kindle.
Oh, and the kids, of course.
Endless source of entertainment those two.
Happy holidays to anyone else who is currently free.
Jane wrote: "Stop nuzzling Annie, there's Brits with stiff upper lips here..."*offers lip balm guaranteed to soften and plump**and hugs**and ♥♥♥*
Have fun you lucky bugger (a.k.a. Mr Matt)!!
Sorry I'm late! ((((( Happy Friday Hugs!!!!! )))))TL and Matt - Enjoy your week next week!
Jane - Sorry you are having a sad day? Sending you smiley hugs.
Annie - Can I have some of that lip balm?
Hugs to All! Sue
Annie wrote: "*passes out cookies**milk*lip balm**and hugs*"Ooh! I'll take one of each, please. Thank you for your generosity. : )
Hugs, Sue
mmm...yummy cookies; and not a single calorie! Thanks Annie ;-P Lip balm sounds excellent.
Matt; jammy doughnut! Have a fab time.
Happy reading/relaxing/working to you all.
((WEEKEND HUGS))
Always so weird to hear about people going on summer holidays when i'm sick in the middle of winter, rain bucketing down outside, gales blowing the trees over... When you've grown up in the southern hemisphere, especially as close to Antarctica as I am, the idea of summer happening in the middle of the year is just so alien! Snorting snot and breathing like an broken engine. Hugs are definitely required! Eeep...
*snort cough splutter*Thanks people! I especially appreciated the pats, and the crinkle of the hazmat suit.
*gulp sniff honk*
((((( HAPPY FRIDAY HUGS )))))I hope everyone had a good week and I wish everyone a wonderful, fun, and healthy weekend.
We had to bring our dog George to the vet hospital last Saturday to send him off the The Rainbow Bridge. His heart was so enlarged, it pressed on his airway, making it difficult to breath. Sad. : (
Hugs, Sue
Hugs for Sue and a metaphorical hug for George. I bet he's having a whale of a time on the other side.
Mat; are you feeling better down there? (looks down through the planet). Seasons are weird! ;-PSue; many comforting hugs.
I'm back in circulation so:
