That's a really good one Diana!

I did enjoy it even though there were some sad themes.
I'm just starting Madonna in a Fur Coat by Sabahattin Ali

It's ratings vary from 1* to 5* so not for everyone. Depends on how much you can suspend your disbelief I guess. Anyway I found it delightful and gave it 5* Two years to wait for a second installment though.

Hope it's as amazing as it sounds!

I've linked this book so others can follow up on it if they want to :)

Phrynne, if your library has these on Borrowbox like mine does, try one of the No 1 Ladies books out, so lovely to listen to!

I will have a look at that Marianne:)

Oh, I liked #4 of this series so much I'm starting at the beginning in the New Year, with this one, obviously!

It had been a long time since I read the earlier books in this series, (which is a follow up to the Tomorrow when the war began series). I thought it was actually the last book / wind up book, but Marsden left it a bit open ended - so not sure if he is planning more.
If so, not sure I will sign up for more, I think it might have run its course. I enjoyed it, but can't really see a good direction forward from here.

That one sounds really good!

The Sound of One Hand Clapping by Richard Flanagan
and
What Happened to the Corbetts by Nevil Shute

I've got this on my TBR pile - earmarked it for a challenge next year

Funny thing was, I was reading it for a challenge as a "horror" book. But it didn't occur to me once while I was reading it that it was supposed to be horror. I just checked again, and yep, horror is the most common shelving.
I thought it was lovely. Not sure what that says about me! But for anyone who like myself usually avoids horror, I highly recommend this one for your next challenge needing a horror book. Lovely.
