I've started reading The Girls by Emma Cline; a fictionalized version about the life of one of the girls on the fringes of the Manson Family. Does anyone remember when it happened? I was a little kid at the time but seem to remember stuff, perhaps the story was still talked about for years.

I've just started The Passage by Justin Cronin for the July tbr challenge. Have been meaning to read this for ages but it's long - 785 pages so I hope I can get it finished before Monday. Just finished The Fireman by Joe Hill which was terrific but also quite long.

I loved The Passage and both its sequels. These are not sparkly vampires!!! (though I like the sparkly kind too)

Just finished Merry Christmas, Alex Cross by James Patterson. Really good stuff! I really enjoyed the double storyline.

Currently reading Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. Seems very dramatic but I'm hoping it will provide some well deserved relief from my mountains of homework! lol

I just finished The Farm by Tom Rob Smith. One of the golden rules of storytelling is to show and not tell. This was one of those rare books that not only did the opposite but succeeded with the highest and brightest of flying colours. Really great job!

I've read The Genesis Flaw, which I think is her first. I still have yet to read Thirst but I'm looking forward to it. Devour is the start of a new series altogether. Have you read her others as well? Her stories remind me a lot of Michael Crichton.

I just finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling after borrowing it from a brother a few days ago. I really enjoyed it, especially where both the story and characters were taken! I'd actually love to see this as a proper novel or even a film.

I just finished both Hades by Candice Fox and Bullseye by James Patterson. I enjoyed both of them and look forward to reading their combined work in Never Never. Now I need a nap after this book coma.

I've been reading Shantaram over the past few days (many more to come). I know a lot of people have loved it, but I didn't realise how laugh-out-loud funny it was going to be. Not all the time, of course, but frequently. I even found myself chuckling over it on a tram yesterday.

Suitably thrilling, as I expected for JP, and kudos to Candice. And I enjoyed The Horseman by Charlotte Nash. Very emotional ending.

I decided to read one of Leonie's books before the get together, so I'm reading (and very much enjoying) Frontier Incursion but I only have it on Kindle so, not wanting to carry my tablet outside, I've started a library book Vinegar Girl: The Taming of the Shrew Retold for my walk outside. Both TBR Hijackers, LOL!
