Yes he was. How can he expect to still be the only one who is worthy of taking that oath when he thought she was dead and she thought she would never see him again? He can't expect her to hold to that when they have had so much happen in their lives! There are more important things for them to worry about than fighting and being butt hurt about something that he can't change. As Queen Elsa would say "Let it go"...LOL

I left off at the start of chapter 36 last night. I have my son's homeschooling lesson later this morning (when he gets up that is!), but I should get some decent reading done on it today.
I stopped on chapter 32. My daughter had a softball tournament with 4 games this weekend so I didn't get much reading done so I hope to get more in today.
I just hit the start of chapter 44! Ayrobyn is so dead!
I read to chapter 36 today. I have some cleaning to do because we are having our house appraised tomorrow but later tonight I plan on catching up!!!

I'm at the start of chapter 56...I took it with me to my son's therapy appointments yesterday and really couldn't put it down! Wow! Talk about things picking up! First..the sexual tension between Aelin and Rowan is so frustrating!!!! I can sense that the Thirteen are having "feelings" about what Vernon and Perrington are up to. Manon needs to wake up and figure out that her grandmother is in it with them and she isn't going to give a rats ass about the witches being sacrificed. How smart and sneaky of Kaltain to have fought the Vlag and is now pretending to be in their control. I only wonder who's side she will end up being on.
I finished chapter 57 at lunch so I will read more on my break. I have to read some in my other book tonight so I am hoping to split my reading time between the two books.

I'm not sure his reasons for holding back are entirely valid...we don't know if she is immortal or not yet!
The whole Manon storyline has me wondering if Manon will wind up forming an alliance with Aelin. That would have some interesting effects!
The Kaltain fighting the Valg idea is a big ploy to show how Dorian would be saved, I think, because even though Kaltain was the victor in the fight, she's much changed because of it.
Yay! You're ahead of me! I'm going to wind up reading this later, I think.
I figured they would save Dorian somehow but wasn't sure how they would have him come back. Surely he can't come out of all this with no lasting effects and take over the throne.I think that deep down Manon is softening but she has to show that she doesn't care a bit in front of her Thirteen.
I finished it! OMG, SO good! Just like Heir, it picks up in Part 2...
I am a little ways into chapter 64. I fell asleep reading last night. I hope to finish it today or tomorrow at the latest. I DID NOT expect Aelin to save Manon during their first encounter!

I finished!!! I kind of had a feeling that Manon's heart was softening when she kept thinking about what the Crochan witch said about monsters being made not born.I wonder if what Kaltain had hidden in her arm was one of the wordkeys?
I was also wondering why Perrington was still in the story but I guess now we know. The next book should be very interesting but we have to wait until September.

Unfortunately, I'll have to wait until October or November for it, gotta wait for my Library to get a copy of it before I can read it.
Hey, Kelby...I just checked this morning at my Library's website for this one, and guess what? They're processing copies of it to check out to people! I'm 11th on the list, so it might be late this month or early next that I'll have it. Do you have your copy already? Still want to buddy read it? If so, can you be ready to go fairly quickly on it? I'll only have it for 3 weeks, and I'll bet my daughter will want it too, so I'll have to read it as soon as I get it.

Sounds Good! I agree about the spoilers. I will definitely start it this weekend but I may not get as far as you because today is my daughter's birthday and we are having her party tomorrow so I may not get as much reading in as I would like.

(We homeschool and our weekends are the days that Daddy has off from work, so that means Wednesday and Thursday in our house.)
Question, what are your feelings on reading a certain number of chapters per day? I was thinking 10 per day so that way we are done in 6-7 days depending on how much reading time we get and hopefully ShoSho won't get so far behind that way? Just a suggestion...

I'll plan on reading the first 10 chapters on Saturday.

Ok, so I made it through the prologue and through chapter 10...and I had to force myself to stop reading the start to chapter 11!! This one starts off very strong, not boring like the previous two have been. So many twists!(view spoiler)
I haven't gotten a chance to start it yet but I plan to today. We had my daughter's birthday party and then dinner last night so I got zero reading done yesterday :(

Looks like things are going to move fast on this one.
